I hate these "coding isn't the hard part" tweets
I have been a part of and seen several companies not just struggling with "the right decision" but the culmination of their past technical decisions.
AI won't magically make this go away. Lines of Code is still a liability and producing it faster doesn't change or reduce it, if anything it increases liability.
Room temperature Twitter take strikes yet again

Do you know that .NET 10 massively reduces the overhead of using any built-in collections via interfaces (yes, not only for arrays)?
Iterating a list via IList<T>, or dictionary via 'IDictionary<K,V>', etc., now has almost zero abstraction penalty!

ship something shitty fast and fix it later culture just does not produce anything great
there's mountains of rationale as to why you should do that but i've never seen it work and it always turns the company into a painful place to work
nothing going on right now changes this

My biggest beef with Scrum: The sprint time box creates an arbitrary deadline.
Arbitrary deadlines lead to rushing.
Rushing leads to cutting corners.
Cutting corners leads to bugs and tech debt.
Bugs and tech debt reduce trust.
Reduced trust leads to more command and control, approval boards, and fewer releases.
Fewer releases lead to higher risk and more rushing to avoid missing infrequent releases, which further erodes trust.
It's a downward spiral.

What's your favourite Algebraic Data Type?
I'll start. The binary tree type is a banger. It is what got me into Functional Programming.
Even after studying Computer Science for 5 years before discovering FP, I couldn't realise code could be so elegant ✨

Avalonia is now recommending developers focus on building apps with @AvaloniaUI or XPF. Both are brilliant options, depending on your cross-platform needs.

The part on the right is Avalonia UI (the part on the left an AV control system). This is using the OpenAI assistant API with function callbacks. I was shocked how easy I got audio in/out working with Avalonia
