People want to blame Grubb because they don’t actual watch the plays. They just look to see if they’re successful or not. If play good, then Grubb is good. If play doesn’t work then Grubb is bad.
I remember watching this play & couldn’t understand why Keelon didn’t keep it. A bad decision & then Meadows couldn’t execute a block shows why is was a TFL
Assuming this is a read…there are two things wrong with this play.
Firstly - Keelon should’ve kept the ball.
Secondly - Meadows has to do a better job of getting a piece.
These are the small details that are holding back Alabama’s run game recently.
You can see clearly that if Meadows gets his block cleanly and Keelon keeps, it’s likely six.
People keep saying that Grubb doesn’t have a philosophy & is why he got fired from Seattle. Where did you read this? Grubb’s core philosophy is working the triangle. His offense is built around it
Flood, spacing, levels, stick, mesh
Every NFL team works triangles into their passing game. This isn’t some BS offense like UT or MSU runs. The QB has to make reads & work through progressions.

That touchdown is on Wommack. Going zero blitz on 2nd down in the red zone left us exposed, and Red Morgan is isolated in off-man coverage, playing way off. Leads to an easy slant for a TD. Just don’t understand that call right there.
