Most of us know about Gen. Patton’s 3 divisions making a 90 deg turn in snow and battle to help win the Battle of the Bulge. I’m so proud of how our teachers stopped dead in their tracks; with little warning, and valiantly tried to retool and bring lessons to kids in a new way.
I’ve had a lot of different job titles during my career in education. However, the one I prefer and the one that gives me the greatest source of pride by far is:
“TEACHER.”
THE POWER OF A TEACHER...Lest we never forget! If you are an educational leader or aspire to lead, I encourage you to read the work below! Especially in advance of August Leadership where we hope you will learn much, much more!
Referenced this book a few weeks ago. I believe in the ideas therein. The coach’s philosophy is built on 14 non-negot. prncipals. Two are:
NO SHAMING ANY STUDENT EVER, ATHLETE OR NOT;
NO PLAYER WILL ALLOW ANY STUDENT TO EAT ALONE!
How might these ideas help your stud’s?
I found this today on L’nked In. Principals, find your “irreplaceables;” tell them and treat them accordingly. Find the right balance for them so they have time to work their magic.
NEISD LIBRARIANS, LIB. SVC’s AND LIB. PROCESSING OUT IN FORCE! The first night of spring COED Bowling featured not one but three teams from our District Library Department led by their Director, Ms. Terri Sanchez. Welcome to the league and to Bowlero ladies and gentleman.
SEL BEFORE SEL WAS COOL Ref’d this book sev. weeks ago. 2 football coaches, 2 huge men physically and by rep. started each practice and each pregame with 2 quest’s. “WHAT IS OUR JOB?” The players resp, “TO LOVE US!” Coaches: “WHAT IS YOUR JOB?” Players: “TO LOVE EACH OTHER!”
“JUST CAUSE“ and “CAREER TO CALLING” Have you truly found either of these like concepts? I highly recommend these two books but if you can spare just a little time; if you read nothing else this week, read Chapt’s 2 (Sinek) and and Chapt’s 10 and 12 (Maxwell). Enjoy...
