THE ROAD TO THE 3RD ANNUAL UHURU SICKLE CELL RUN STARTS WITH ACTION!
Before we lace up our running shoes on 3rd October 2026, we must strengthen the systems, partnerships and leadership needed to make a lasting difference.
We are therefore proud to present the Lango Regional Sickle Cell Stakeholders Summit 2026, a strategic pre-event activity bringing together key stakeholders to collectively shape the region’s response to sickle cell disease.
📌 Theme:
“Strengthening Regional Leadership, Health Systems and Multi-Sectoral Collaboration for Improved Sickle Cell Prevention, Care and Management in Lango Sub-Region.”
📅 2nd October 2026
📍 Margaritah Palace Hotel, Lira City
🎟️ Attendance is by invitation
This Summit will create an important platform for health leaders, policymakers, development partners, healthcare professionals, civil society, community leaders and other stakeholders to engage, share evidence, strengthen collaboration and identify practical actions for improving sickle cell prevention, care and management across Lango.
And then, on 3rd October, we take the message from the boardroom to the streets!
The 3rd Annual Uhuru Sickle Cell Run will unite thousands of people behind one powerful cause, raising awareness, promoting early testing and supporting better care for people and families affected by sickle cell disease.
DAY 1: DIALOGUE. LEADERSHIP. ACTION.
DAY 2: MOVEMENT. AWARENESS. SOLIDARITY.
Lango is getting ready.
Stakeholders are coming together.
The Run is calling.
