Congratulations to @krmaher on becoming the new CEO of @NPR !! Here she is from her Faces of Open Source sitting in Silicon Valley a few years ago when she was heading up @Wikimedia .

Sad to hear of the passing of Lorinda Cherry who was part of the original #unix team at @BellLabs as well as a recent @NCWIT pioneer award winner. Doug McIlroy’s thoughts on Lorinda’s contributions are very much worth a read: minnie.tuhs.org/pipermail/tu…

David is a treasure. 😀

Very excited to add @benadida to the Faces of Open Source! Ben is a long time #oss contributor whose current mission is to safeguard democracy by building open and accountable #voting systems as Executive Director of @voting_works. Welcome Ben!

Happy 20th Birthday @Wikipedia ! Your mission is more important now than ever before. Here’s @Wikimedia Executive Director @krmaher who has been making great things happen in wiki land ever since she took over in 2016. #Wikipedia20 #Wikipedia #OpenSource

Lots of #unix / computing history in a single org chart

Happy birthday #Java. Hard to believe you are 24 years old today. Here isJava creator @errcraft who I photographed last year at #apachecon. I want that t-shirt. 😉 #opensource

Holden Karau — two time author, @ApacheSpark commiter and, hands down, the best dressed at any tech conference I’ve ever been to... @holdenkarau #opensource More: instagram.com/p/B2xHLWSgOBB/…

Timirah James (@TimirahJ ) writes code and songs. Pretty killer combination if you ask me. This is all when she’s not speaking about #opensource or running @Technigal_LA. More: instagram.com/p/B2xEG7RgBRt/…

That’s a wrap! Thank you @OReillyMedia for exhibiting the photographs this week at @oscon! And thank you to everyone that stopped by to take a look! Exhibits help us make this an ongoing project and add new Faces like the @rosorg crew pictured below! #OSCON

Thank you @oscon for exhibiting the project! Very exicted to reconnect with some old friends and new Faces next week. If you are in Portland, come see the Faces of Open Source portraits on display at the convention center (no pass required).

Bill Joy :: The vi text editor, #BSD, #Java and Jini (@TheASF River), Bill Joy is has been at the root of some of our most important pieces of software. I photographed Bill a few weeks ago and have a few more portraits of him here: Instagram.com/peteradamsphot…

Congratulations to @kelseyhightower for being named one of “Fourty Under 40” by @PDXBIZJournal !! #foss @GoogleOSS @GCPcloud @Google @kubernetesio

If you’re in the USA you may have @nithyaruff to thank for your cable service acting up less these days! As head of open source at @comcast she’s helping the cable co. embrace #oss and is also working on diversity & inclusion with the @linuxfoundation. bit.ly/2IXXW8a

When I finally got @laparisa into the studio to photograph her for the @facesopensource series, I knew we also had to do a fun #security princess photo. 😉👑🔒
