New paper - @harryhumes_ and I consider how renewable energy subsidy costs should be recovered - a flat rate charge (as is the status quo under the Irish PSO) or as a surcharge on electricity consumption.

We consider both equity and efficiency effects of a potential reform. A per unit surcharge is preferred unless costs increase considerably. This is not unlikely.
There are lessons here for expected changes to distribution (DUoS) & transmission (TUoS) charges

Only a few days left to apply for the @ESRIDublin summer internships - the deadline is this Friday! Positions open in economics , behavioral economics, migration and Human Resources.
It pays to shop around and switch energy supplier.
My contract had lapsed by a few months with my current supplier. I switched to a competitor for a better rate. I received a counter offer from my old supplier, a lower rate back dated to the end of my contract and cashback

Reminds me of the Longford Cathedral when that was restored. Although it wasn't so much grime but the paint work
Perhaps the most breathtaking feature is the cathedral’s newly luminous quality.
After being darkened by centuries of grime, the blanched stonework of the pillars and vaults now appear as they would have done in medieval times econ.st/3AU7yjv 👇

This paper has been a long time in the works. Many of the recommendations have featured in recent changes to the grid application process by @UtilityregCRU
Today, we have published a new research bulletin titled 'The impact of planning and regulatory delays for energy infrastructure'.
⚡ The research highlights how regulatory delays impact electricity prices, system emissions, and costs.
