On November 20, China, as the rotating President of the UN Security Council, told Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, during his speech condemning UN Women, that he should maintain some respect for the briefer invited to the meeting.
When Gilda Erdan used improper language to criticise UN Women at the meeting, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, respectfully interrupted him to remind him to respect others while expressing himself.
I don't remember this happening very often at UN conferences.
Roughly translated below are the comments made by China's representative to the United Nations.
"Distinguished representative of Israel, I would like to remind you that you can fully express your different opinions in your statement, but please show respect at least for the briefer invited to the meeting. This is the consistent practice of the Security Council and a rule that everyone should abide by. I would like to remind you to pay attention and please continue your speech."

Meet Saleem Elrayes, Gaza's #1 antique dealer.
For 30yrs+, Saleem has collected private papers, rare books, manuscripts & historical documents from the people of Gaza relating to the history of Palestine.
Shortly before Oct 7, I was fortunate enough to visit his shop in Gaza City. I purchased 100s of documents dating from the 1910s-1960s.
Since Oct. 7th, the Israeli military bombed Saleem's home. Saleem believes his shop, which housed the literary heritage of the Palestinian people of Gaza, has been destroyed during Israel's genocidal rampage.
I'm sharing 200+ documents I received from Saleem for the first time now.
You can download them for free in the "Gaza Collection" here, in the folder titled "ملف غير محدد"
palestinenexus.com/sources
In total, the Gaza Collection now includes 600+ documents, all of them purchased from Saleem. Here's a video with Saleem, taken on October 2nd, 2023, from Saleem's home (which is now rubble), where he is explaining one of the documents in the collection:

This is quite satisfying: the Israeli ambassador to the UN officially reprimanded by China (who assumes the rotating presidency of the UN security council) as he was going on a nasty tirade against UN women.
"Please show some respect at least".

DESTRUCTION OF THE DR SITI HASMAH AND ENAYA PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE
1. I am extremely perturbed to learn of the destruction, due to Israeli bombing, of the Dr Siti Hasmah and Enaya Physiotherapy Centre in Gaza on Nov 7, 2023.
2. Tragically, five Gazan families seeking shelter at the centre after their homes were bombed, lost four members of their families in the Israel attack.
3. I have mourned the bombings and destructions of other hospitals and shelters in Gaza previously.
4. But I have a personal affinity for this hospital. The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF), of which I am a member, was directly involved in its construction from the very start.
5. PGPF, alongside Humanitarian Care Malaysia, Muslim Care Malaysia, Media Prima Humanitarian Fund and the Charitable Association for Palestinian Relief helped built it and it had been in operation since 2019.
6. The location of the centre in Khan Younis, in the South of Gaza, was of no consequence to the Zionist Israeli regime. Despite having said earlier that they would not target the south, it proved to be lip service.
7. The attacks is now turning into an operation of mass murdering Palestinian civilians and non-combatants. It is not a war between militaries, but a genocide by the Israeli military to rid Gaza of its Palestinian population.
8. The bombings of hospitals and residences, and now a physiotherapy centre, proved that Israel is targeting these centres intentionally and wilfully.
9. All we can do is protest and pray for the Palestinians to be spared Israel’s brutality.
10. And Israeli allies, notably the US and UK continue to justify and support Israelis barbarity.

Naeim Giladi - An Iraqi Jew
We often hear of the "exodus" or the "expulsion" of Arab Jews from various countries in the middle east. Zionists would have you believe it was an expulsion, an eviction, a forced migration or push to rid their countries of this rancid Jewish populous.
The truth couldn't be further from this narrative
An excerpt from His Story, His Own Words
"Of course I thought I knew it all back then. I was young, idealistic, and more than willing to put my life at risk for my convictions. It was 1947 and I wasn't quite 18 when the Iraqi authorities caught me for smuggling young Iraqi Jews like myself out of Iraq, into Iran, and then on to the Promised Land of the soon-to-be established Israel. I was an Iraqi Jew in the Zionist underground. My Iraqi jailers did everything they could to extract the names of my co-conspirators.
Fifty years later, pain still throbs in my right toe-a reminder of the day my captors used pliers to remove my toenails. On another occasion, they hauled me to the flat roof of the prison, stripped me bare on a frigid January day, then threw a bucket of cold water over me. I was left there, chained to the railing, for hours. But I never once considered giving them the information they wanted. I was a true believer.
My preoccupation during what I refer to as my "two years in hell" was with survival and escape. I had no interest then in the broad sweep of Jewish history in Iraq even though my family had been part of it right from the beginning. We were originally Haroons, a large and important family of the "Babylonian Diaspora." My ancestors had settled in Iraq more than 2,600 years ago- 600 years before Christianity, and 1,200 years before Islam. I am descended from Jews who built the tomb of Yehezkel, a Jewish prophet of pre-biblical times. My town, where I was born in 1929, is Hillah, not far from the ancient site of Babylon. The original Jews found Babylon, with its nourishing Tigris and Euphrates rivers, to be truly a land of milk, honey, abundance-and opportunity.
Although Jews, like other minorities in what became Iraq, experienced periods of oppression and discrimination depending on the rulers of the period, their general trajectory over two and one-half millennia was upward. Under the late Ottoman rule, for example, Jewish social and religious institutions, schools and medical facilities flourished without outside interference, and Jews were prominent in government and business.
As I sat there in my cell, unaware that a death sentence soon would be handed down against me, I could not have recounted any personal grievances that my family members would have lodged against the government or the Muslim majority. Our family had been treated well and had prospered, first as farmers with some 50,000 acres devoted to rice, dates and Arab horses. Then, with the Ottomans, we bought and purified gold that was shipped to Istanbul and turned into coinage.
The Turks were responsible in fact for changing our name to reflect our occupation-we became Khalaschi, meaning "Makers of Pure." I did not volunteer the information to my father that I had joined the Zionist underground. He found out several months before I was arrested when he saw me writing Hebrew and using words and expressions unfamiliar to him. He was even more surprised to learn that, yes, I had decided I would soon move to Israel myself. He was scornful. "You'll come back with your tail between your legs," he predicted.
About 125,000 Jews left Iraq for Israel in the late 1940s and into 1952, mostly because they had been lied to and put into a panic by what I came to learn were Zionist bombs.
But my mother and father were among the 6,000 who did not go to Israel. Although physically I never did return to Iraq-that bridge had been burned in any event-my heart has made the journey there many, many times.
My father had it right- I should have never left."

If even only a small portion of a surge in omicron cases wind up serious, there’s fear it will overwhelm hospitals within weeks. We’re recovering at home, but for someone else, it could be an ICU stay. Hospital teams are bracing for it with the very little energy they have left.
