Why support the enemy of your enemy who isn't your friend when you can build a global alliance of oppressed and exploited peoples instead?

Last night was a defeat for the ultras. For PSL. For the People's Forum. For Roy Singham. For the NPC majority in DSA. And ofc for Trump and the Republicans.
But It was a victory for Americans who want something better for themselves - and for everyone else as well.

A Gaza-based Palestinian Journalist Standing Before the Rubble of His Home Condemns the Houthis and Iran Over Their Actions in Yemen
Standing before the rubble of his destroyed home in Gaza, Palestinian journalist Motasem Ahmed Dalloul @AbujomaaGaza delivered a powerful condemnation of the Houthis and Iran, accusing them of exploiting the Palestinian cause to conceal their abuses against the Yemeni people, particularly the ongoing siege of Taiz.
Dalloul, a Gaza-based journalist and Middle East affairs specialist who holds a master's degree in international journalism from the University of Westminster in London, said he had lost his wife, three children, several siblings and other relatives, his home, his supermarket, and his personal office during the Israeli war in Gaza.
Despite those losses, Dalloul refused to remain silent about the suffering of Yemenis. He accused the Houthis of using their declared support for Gaza and Palestine to improve their image among Sunni Muslims while committing abuses against Yemenis.
"The Houthis' support for Gaza does not give them a certificate of forgiveness to starve, displace, kill, destroy homes, occupy land, change people's culture, religion, and religious identity, or impose their sectarian guardianship on them," he said.
Dalloul revealed that he had faced criticism and pressure, including from people in Gaza, demanding that he delete his earlier video condemning the Houthi siege of Taiz, change his position, retract his remarks, or apologize.
He refused.
"Just because I lost my wife, children, and home does not mean I am authorized to speak on behalf of the people of Gaza. I represent myself, and I speak according to my conscience."
He also rejected accusations that criticizing the Houthis meant siding with their opponents.
"My criticism of the Houthis for committing war crimes in Yemen, particularly now in Taiz, does not mean I support the other side. I stand against injustice wherever it occurs and whoever commits it. I will never stand with an oppressor."
Dalloul accused Iran and the Houthis of using Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque as political and religious slogans to rehabilitate their image, while pursuing what he described as a sectarian project in Yemen.
He ended with a message of solidarity from Gaza to Yemenis living under Houthi control.
"To all our brothers in Yemen who are oppressed by this criminal Houthi and his followers, we will not abandon you. We stand with you, and we pray that God grants you victory over this tyrant."
Dalloul insisted that neither personal attacks nor political pressure would change his position.
"I stand with what is right, wherever it may be. This is my position, and I will not retreat from it."

Norman Finkelstein, Cornel West, and Richard Wolff discuss how Tucker Carlson has changed recently, with West saying that we should give Tucker a chance to prove he's really changed for the better. West says that Tucker is going through a "spiritual transformation" and Wolff says that Tucker becoming more religious could make him pro-immigration and against mass deportation.
Cornel West: "Now, he's changed again. People do change, I believe in people changing. And when they change, you give them a chance to be tried and true."
Richard Wolff: "I suspect Mr. Carlson may have an epiphany around his squaring the religion with that deportation."

This is great analysis of the 'Anti-Imperialist Brainrot' that's unfortunately overtaken so much discourse in the Left. It dissects the biases that fuel the idiotic takes and the two totally different, incongruent lenses for caring about human rights.

My friend Vlad Starodubtsev, a Ukrainian veteran and historian, was beaten up in Lviv today by a group of far-right thugs for trying to give a history lecture.
According to Social Movement, a Ukrainian democratic socialist organization, about 20 of them attacked him in broad daylight, just before the talk was supposed to start at the group's office near Lviv University. The lecture was on the history of the labor and socialist movement in Galicia.
This is an attack on the freedom of speech that journalists, academics and activists depend on. It's vital that attention be drawn to this issue so that authorities take appropriate action. If you are journalist reading this, please consider covering it, and following up with authorities.

Another “pro-Palestine” dude defending disgusting Assadist propagandists and their lies about chemical weapons attacks on Syrian civilians, then shamelessly posing as a champion of the Palestinian people.

If I have to choose between Israelis who call for an end to genocide and apartheid while acknowledging Hamas's crimes, and the segment of pro-Palestine supporters who carry photos of Sinwar and Nasrallah, the choice is clear: I stand with those Israelis and will fight alongside them to end apartheid and genocide.

If you’re not deep in the weeds enough what are you doing defending a fraud on social media whose notoriety was earned by trying to spread conspiracy theories about the victims of a mass chemical weapons attack?

More than 20 masked Hamas gunmen took turns brutally beating and torturing Abu Hammam Jundiyya. They broke his jaw and legs and beat him so badly.
His crime? Speaking out against merchants who have been taking advantage of the war and the suffering of people in Gaza to line their own pockets.
Hamas collects huge sums of money from merchants in exchange for turning a blind eye to their abuses and exploitation of ordinary people in Gaza. They pay Hamas, and Hamas lets them get away with it. That's how things work in Gaza now. There are leaked audio recordings in which the merchants themselves admit to these arrangements.
Also, Abu Hammam has been a vocal critic of Hamas and strongly condemned October 7, which he believes brought catastrophe upon Gaza. He has also publicly stated on several occasions that he received death threats from both Hamas security and the Al-Qassam Brigades because of his writings.
Abu Hammam was released two days ago, but only after being forced to sign a pledge promising not to write about Hamas or the merchants exploiting the suffering of Gazans again.

Screaming Mamdani is a genocide apologist and has blood on his hands is not ‘pushing from the left’ - it is a reflection of purity politics, narrow thinking and reactionary campism within segments of the so called left.
As a Muslim journalist who spent her early career writing, observing and talking about Muslim Americans, pursuit of power & specifically Palestine (I created the concept/term of Faithwashing) - this perspective below is rooted in two myths: first, that the struggle for Palestinian liberation will come from American electoralism and second, that Muslim Americans of particular class backgrounds and on trajectories of pursuit of power have a primary vested interest in and plan for Palestinian liberation (or starting with at least ending the genocide).
This is historically not the case and we know, also historically, that the pacification of radical movements and moments happens the moment they are brought into the mainstream fold and choose to moderate themselves because no one is holding their feet to the fire. If all you’re satisfied with are crumbs, because the plate was empty before, then all you’ll get is crumbs.
Additionally, it’s been said so many times already, if you’re not pushing them left, they’re being pushed to the right.
