Why don’t they just tokenize the oil in the Middle East and transport it across permissionless financial rails, thereby avoiding the Strait of Hormuz altogether

DeFi: @sparkfinance depositing to syrupUSDC
Insto: @bitwise depositing to Maple
two of the largest allocators on both sides of the crypto ecosystem moving in the same direction
probably nothing... $SYRUP
A @sparkfinance proposal to onboard SyrupUSDC is now live on the @SkyEcosystem governance forum.
If passed, it will further solidify SyrupUSDC as a bedrock DeFi yield asset. The proposal contains an initial allocation of 25M with the ability to scale it further to 50-100M in USDC deployed.

Years from now, Gensler will try to rewrite his own history: that he was the Chairperson that approved the most significant ETF product of a century, the Bitcoin ETF.
Never, ever, ever give him the satisfaction and always remind the world that he was, in fact, a very small man.

July Recap: @maplefinance + @syrupfi 🥞
July was a stellar month for us here at Maple. Despite the summer slowdown in the market, we saw continued growth with TVL now sitting around $310 million and monthly protocol revenues hitting a new all time high.
A large part of the growth can be attributed to the launch of Syrup.fi, our new permissionless yield protocol built on top of the Maple Direct secured lending engine.
In its first month, Syrup passed $40 million in TVL and generated some of the most attractive yields in all of DeFi. Lenders earned 17.2% net APY in USDC, plus an average of 14.8% net APY in rewards from Season 1 of our Drips program, for a total of 32% all-in yield on average.
If you think about where you’d need to go to find that kind of yield in TradFi right now, you’d be looking at illiquid, distressed debt from issuers teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.
Syrup, on the other hand, allows individuals to lend directly to the top institutions in crypto against high-quality, liquid collateral like BTC and SOL. Anyone can look on-chain and see that the Syrup loan book is currently 165% overcollateralized, ensuring downside principal protection.
In Season 2, you can expect more DeFi integrations and more utility for syrupUSDC holders as we continue to build out the ecosystem. Stay tuned.
