easiest hack to get internships
if ur a college student and you’re trying to get a job for summer 2027, try this
if you’re a college student you need to stop spending 100s a month on software that you can get for free!!
unpopular opinion: you don’t need a niche
you need an audience. the niche is you.
i made videos about anything students cared about. internships, scholarships, finance, career, jobs
then 100 vids later, finance and tech were the ones consistently going viral so i doubled down
you can’t pick a niche before you know what works. even then you want ppl to watch the content bc you’re the person sharing the content, rather than the content itself
is anyone having a wedding anytime soon? i've just really been meaning to go to a wedding. i promise i'm funny and cool and i will buy you a really awesome cool present. anyways let me know if anyone's having a wedding.
here’s how I turned every interview into an offer back when I was internship hunting after my freshman year of college
this is also how I ended up getting a lot of interviews without going through the traditional process
sept recap:
- partnership w muse
- creator at meta connect + coded w the meta displays
- oai dev day: saw our activation and billboard
- saw gpt astra draw us at gpt-6 event
- guest speaker @ my first berkeley lecture
- brothers bday, got a cat
- ended with a calm japan trip
i launched two $1k scholarships to any high school or college student working on cool initiatives!
no gpa, no test scores, not major specific! partnered w a scholarship company to give these out, hopefully the start of many more :)
apply before Oct 31!
ppl in the comments saying “oh cause u have 400k followers” is so funny to me because like yes that is the point … like obviously his platform will help ???
that is how he gets people to use his tools is BECAUSE of his distribution and obv his projects are useful and cool but yes that is the entire PURPOSE of building a brand - people will care about what you’re building and will want to use it!!!
ppl should instead use this to LEARN how to build an audience so they can get to this level.
this guy is a HUGE inspiration
the story behind this billboard is my fav
chloe and i did this tv show style competition on building an iOS app with codex to bring communities together
we built a simple app where u can swipe on spontaneous hangouts on ur college campus so you can meet more ppl outside your major
there we met the goat @romainhuet and did a lot of discussing on marketing strats for oai directly aimed to students
i have an educational platform with 350k followers so brainstorming ideas for a company like them was very fun
then we won the chatgpt student grant, then later on romain asked if we wanted to do a commercial on how codex helped us build finnie (our fin aid tool to help students go to college for free)
of course we said yes
shot the whole commercial, sam altman introduced our video on dev day stage, we had our own codex originals booth.
so so so many ppl involved in this production that make this reality, and shoutout oai for amplifying our mission
also DM me if u work in college enrollment or recruiting lol
agree an account to 350k followers and 300m views helping students get into college, land internships, etc
now launched a mentorship program, so if you’re a parent of a highschooler check it out!
how ive been using grokbot to help me manage my finances as a college student!
today i realized i am spending more money on matcha than i realized …
why does codex only have timed automations and not automations happen instantly when something happens am i missing something here lol
like i have to schedule the automation to run like every hour rather than just have it auto run when a step is true
if you’re applying to college (or know someone who is!) and wanna get inspired by people’s essays in your dream uni and major…
check out this little thing i built!
spoke at a berkeley class about building distribution before building a product
most have a landing page and that’s it. which is the perfect time to start posting
questions they asked:
> how do u get over the anxiety of posting
> what has content actually done for you
> what do you do starting from zero
my answer to all 3 is kinda the same
your first 80 vids are going to be bad, whether u spend 5 min or 50 min editing it. but thats the awesome part!!
content is such a fun and fulfilling journey and the most effective way of getting your product, perspective, to millions simultaneously
at the end everyone filmed a tiktok- and reached 100k views across the class.
cool things happen when u give urself the chance.
have u ever had a conversation with someone and within the first 5 min ur life holy shit this person is so smart and knowledgeable
