I might have just lost my first ₦1,000,000 opportunity in Web3, and honestly, it hurts. 💔
I spent months grinding @namidefi Odyssey, completing tasks and climbing the leaderboard. I eventually reached #9, with $750 attached to that position.
For me, that money meant a lot. I had already started imagining what I could do with it.
But I made a mistake.
The campaign required participants to hold at least $10 in their wallets. I tried onboarding some of my friends, so that they won't miss out but the thing is that majority of them couldn't afford it, so I moved the same funds from my wallet for them to get through and to help them qualify.
I thought I was helping, but I didn't properly consider the rules.
Then I woke up one morning and found out I'd been banned. My points were gone, and my months of effort suddenly felt wasted.
I tried explaining myself to the team, but things didn't go as I'd hoped I was even restricted in their telegram group.
Their integrity update later confirmed that 39 accounts had been banned for violations involving the same funds being moved between wallets.
I couldn't deny my mistake. I should have read the rules more carefully and asked questions first.
Still, it hurt. I was so close to a reward that could genuinely have made a difference in my life.
I really heartbroken that morning. My mum asked what happened, but I didn't know how to explain it.
I had so many plans for money I hadn't even received yet.
I also wondered whether African participants were being treated fairly, especially after seeing leaderboard changes. But I don't have proof of discrimination, so I won't claim that was the reason.
Looking back, I learned something painful: good intentions don't excuse breaking the rules.
If you're grinding in Web3, please learn from my mistake. Read the rules, ask questions, and never move funds between wallets to help people qualify unless it's explicitly allowed.
I'm disappointed, but I'll take responsibility and keep moving.

I did a rewarded TestDrive of Google Labs Playground with @testdriveso.
It offers prompt-based game creation without coding, from racing to trivia.
My takeaway: the idea makes game creation more accessible, but regional restrictions kept me from testing it firsthand.
