5. Plan for the people, too. Changing space, makeup, breaks, somewhere safe for bags and phones. Confirm bathrooms and temperature control. A workable set needs somewhere comfortable to step off camera.

4. Wrap time isn't checkout time. Your last take still leaves gear to pack and furniture to reset. Book setup, shoot and pack-down as one block so you're out on time.

3. Know who has access. Will the host be onsite? Are any areas shared? Confirm privacy, disclosed security cameras, and whether staff or other guests could turn up. If you don't know who could walk in, you're not ready to roll.

2. Scout beyond the photos. Ask for an in-person scout or a video walkthrough. Check camera angles, room size, light and background noise. A beautiful room can still be hard to shoot in.

1. Be honest with your host. Tell them what you're planning, how many crew are coming and which rooms you'll use. Flag water, messy materials, outdoor filming, moving furniture and any insurance/COI needs before you arrive.
