I consider $AERO as arguably the BIGGEST sleeping giant in DeFi for this cycle.
TVL = $1.417 Bil (40% of Base TVL)
MCap = $1.125 Bil
Rarely do you see projects with higher TVL than market cap & I imagine that changes for AERO soon.
But it's far more than just TVL
Aerodrome is doing unreal numbers in terms of revenue.
The only non-stablecoin protocols generating more revenue than them are Ethereum, Tron, Solana & Ethena.
With the first 3 obviously being some of the most established projects in this space sitting nicely in the top 10 market cap leadereboards.
And remember... These are L1 networks that serve as the entire infrastructure to their respective blockchains.
Aerodrome is simply 1 protocol on Base that's putting unreal numbers.
And then of course there's the narrative of Aerodrome being the face of utility on Coinbase's Base chain.
This is an absolute sleeper that you should be paying attention to if you want some exposure to the Base ecosystem and overall DeFi.
We've seen what some exchange tokens can do, especially with the likes of Binance Coin with BSC.
Well now we have a chance to capture that opportunity... But on Coinbase🧠
It's not just narratives for Aerodrome, the numbers do more than speak for themselves.

🚨IMPORTANT NEWS FOR EUROPEANS🚨
A lot of $USDT FUD going around, so here’s the reality:
$USDT is NOT becoming illegal in Europe on Dec 30, 2024
MiCA rules will require compliance, but there’s a 6-18 month transition period for providers
Some exchanges are delisting early (Coinbase); others are waiting for clarity
$USDC may be the better MiCA-compliant stablecoin option but there is still no clarity

The SOL unlocks coming in January have created a massive incentive to paint skin deep bullish narratives.
But, dig deeper and you can see the writing on the wall.
It is clear that @base and @aeroxyz are building a real tangible moat -- and in 2025 it will be undeniable.

Aerodrome's best week ever (yet again).
* TVL: $1.68b -- All Time High
* Volume: $8.2b -- All Time High
* Epoch Fees: $8.2m -- All Time High
* Voting Rewards: $9.8m -- All Time High
* AERO Locked Up: 14m -- 2nd Best Ever
So yeah, a pretty solid week. 🛫
I am so sorry, but after epoch flip you guys are going to have to endure another post where I highlight @aeroxyz breaking records on every metric.
I know you all are sick and tired of winning. You can’t take it anymore, the wins are too much.
But it is what it is gang. 🛫

TIL @aeroxyz is doing about 2x the annualized revenue of the very impressive Hyperliquid.
And distributing all of it each week as voting incentives to $veAERO voters.

Your regular reminder that on @base:
$ETH is the gas token
$OP the governance token
$AERO the economic token
Replying to @jessepollak @chameleon_jeff
and finally: there are no plans for a @base network token.
we are focused on building. and we want to solve real problems that let you build better. and I want your feedback on what we can be doing better.

My theory is @cbventures will own 20%+ of $AERO @aeroxyz and use their $veAERO as a launching services for promising projects on @base
Remember Software as a service?
Yep, Scaling as a service 😉 (SAAS in crypto)
P.S. fee generation is better than CEX take rate currently.

Is Bitcoin Headed to 100K? Here's What's Next
Bitcoin’s rise toward the $100,000 mark no longer feels like a distant dream.
With a blend of institutional support, regulatory shifts, and market momentum, BTC’s next phase of growth looks promising.
Let’s explore what’s fueling the surge and what to watch for next.
Institutional Impact: IBIT Options Surge
The launch of IBIT options has created a significant shift in market dynamics.
On its first day, the new Bitcoin options platform saw $2 billion in notional exposure.
With a 4.4:1 ratio of calls to puts, the market is overwhelmingly bullish (investors are betting that Bitcoin will continue its upward trajectory).
This increase in options trading enhances liquidity and provides new avenues for institutional investors to hedge risk and speculate on Bitcoin’s price movement.
Macro Trends Driving Bitcoin Toward $100K
Bitcoin’s journey to $100,000 is supported by evolving U.S. regulations and political shifts. Analysts at QCP Capital predict BTC will hit $100K, with gains likely spilling over into altcoins as Bitcoin dominance drops below 58%.
As Bitcoin approaches its all-time highs, major players like MicroStrategy continue to buy, with the company now holding 1.5% of Bitcoin’s total supply.
Meanwhile, projections from traditional finance institutions even suggest that a Bitcoin price of $200K is possible if pro-crypto policies take root following the U.S. election.
Caution Amid the Optimism
While the bullish outlook is strong, not all signals are positive.
Analysts caution that the “easy” part of the rally may be over. According to Augustine Fan from SOFA, the next phase could involve price choppiness and potential corrections.
Fan also warns that Bitcoin's rising dominance might signal a blow-off top, where rapid price gains are followed by a steep correction, indicating an overheated market.
Closing Thoughts
As Bitcoin heads toward $100K, market conditions suggest volatility and uncertainty ahead.
The balance between institutional investment and market speculation will be key.

Is the Crypto Bull Market Back?
After a turbulent week, the crypto markets are showing signs of improvement. The recessionary fears triggered by weak US macroeconomic data appear to have lessened, offering traders a glimmer of hope.
Let’s delve into the factors driving this renewed bullish sentiment and assess whether the storm has truly passed.
The recent uptick in market sentiment seems to stem from two key factors:
1) Japanese Monetary Policy
Last week, the yen surged, and Tokyo shares plunged as the Bank of Japan (BOJ) unexpectedly raised its policy rate from near-zero to its highest level in 15 years. BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda signaled that further steady rate hikes could be on the horizon, a move the central bank had been hinting at for months.
However, sentiment stabilized on Wednesday when Ueda’s deputy clarified that the BOJ would refrain from raising rates if market conditions remained unstable. Yet, confusion returned on Thursday with the release of minutes from the BOJ’s July 30-31 meeting, which revealed a focus on preventing inflation from overshooting through a series of rate hikes.
“The BOJ hiked interest rates because it didn’t like the weak yen. Now it appears to be signaling a pause because it doesn’t like falling stocks,” noted Takuya Kanda, an analyst at Gaitame.com Research Institute. “If the BOJ is this reactive to market conditions, it may struggle to implement further rate hikes.”
2) US Election Prospects

Former President Donald Trump, positioning himself as the 'pro-crypto' candidate, has generated renewed optimism in the crypto markets. His perceived chances of winning the upcoming election have bolstered this sentiment. However, according to current forecasts, Trump's odds are trending downwards, with Vice President Kamala Harris seeing a significant uptick.
With 86 days left until the election, it's important to remember that US elections are notoriously unpredictable, especially with key swing states in play.
Is a Crypto Bull Market on the Horizon?
Despite the recent uptick, caution remains warranted. Just last week, the markets were in turmoil, and high volatility is still a possibility as new data emerges.
Key data points to watch next week include:
- Tuesday, 13th: Producer Price Index (PPI)
- Wednesday, 14th: Consumer Price Index (CPI)
- Thursday, 15th: Retail Sales
- Friday, 16th: Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index
More detail below (the timezone is UTC+2):

Any deviation from market expectations could lead to significant volatility given the current heightened market conditions.

A sustained crypto bull market will likely require a consistent stream of positive developments. One major catalyst could be an interest rate cut at the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting in 38 days. A 25 basis point (bp) cut would be supportive, while a 50 bp cut could provide a significant boost.
