so far i’m genuinely happy with how pantalone is being written because i love how human he remains despite everything he’s suffered, and how his relationship with faith and divinity can resonate with people who grew up in a more oppressive religious environment

i’m biased because i ship them but dottore became his doctor and pantalone clearly proved his potential and managed to escape being his specimen. as for the gunshot wound at 26, i also hc that it was the same gang that framed him, having discovered he was still alive 👀
to be able to grow? to let go of his past and stop letting his resentment towards the divinity define him? to learn how to live without vengeance and hatred being his driving force?
some of his choices have indirectly hurt others. acknowledging that and having to confront the consequences is precisely why he could benefit from one. not only villains need redemption arcs; antagonists whose motivations are rooted in resentment can benefit from them too

if you refuse to admit that your favourite antagonist/villain character is a bad person then you aren’t truly a fan of them and don’t understand their character
