Manchester United have sacked managers for less than this.
After nine league games this season, Carrick’s United have 7 points, averaging 0.78 per game. Solskjær averaged 1.11 points per game in his final nine games, Ten Hag averaged 1.22, Mourinho and Amorim - over 1.4

Great stats here. Interesting in isolation but also because it underlines that, for all the obsession with Haaland's speed and strength (particularly in the summer) his spatial awareness is why he's the best penalty box striker around.

Erling Haaland has been offside 25 times in four years of Premier League football.
That is once every five games, 76 behind top-of-the-table Dominic Calvert-Lewin and fewer times per 90 minutes than full-backs Riccardo Calafiori, Andy Robertson and Pervis Estupinan.
He was not caught offside once in five games at the World Cup.
It is all the more remarkable given that, since 2022, only four other Premier League players have made more runs in behind opposition defences.
He views this as a badge of honour, but how does he do it?

Astra is Messi level🤖⚽️🐐
AI could solve Navier-Stokes, can it solve football?
I froze the video before memorable plays and made Astra, Fable and Sol take key decisions seeing Messi's POV
Compared it with what Messi did and Astra was the only one choosing the Messi options.
What should I try next?

What drives player value?
Using Twelve’s 2025/26 player profiles, I modelled market value against 18 performance dimensions, controlling for age and position.
Ridge regression + 95% bootstrap intervals.

Football analytics is becoming infrastructure, not a side project.
The @FinancialTimes makes that shift tangible.
Data & analytics have grown to more than 3% of professional football job postings, while clubs such as Brighton, Newcastle and Man Utd have sharply increased hiring.
What interests me is that clubs aren't “using more data”, we passed that point years ago.
The change is organisational.
Recruitment analysts. Data scientists. Analytics engineers. Performance analysts. Data platforms. Models and internal tools built around decision-making.
And that changes where the competitive advantage can come from.
Having access to data is increasingly commoditised (Still expensive for normies). The harder part is building the infrastructure and people that can turn it into better football questions, repeatable workflows and ultimately better decisions.
The moat is moving from data access to data capability.

Ta wizualizacja to dowód na to, że Mateusz Lis powinien wylecieć z boiska. Trzymał piłkę z obu stron, a zewnętrzna była poza polem karnym. Decyduje punkt kontaktu, a NIE pozycja piłki

There were 110 (yes, 110!) passes in the build-up to Riyad Mahrez's goal for Algeria last night.
Algeria had the ball in continuous possession for over 5 minutes 😂
Clearly didn't get the message that a draw would have been fine for both

Belgium’s committed heat average at this World Cup: 17.1C. Their hottest match of the entire group stage is a 20.7C evening at SoFi.
France’s average match is hotter than Belgium’s worst one.
Some teams drew the heat. Some drew the Pacific corridor.

założenia - Hoxha podniesie rating Widzewa proporcjonalnie do ratingu Dinama (1/11, nie grał wszystkiego, ale dostaje bonus za ofensywną pozycję), czyli o 20pkt
Widzew ma rating 1980 (~średnia z wiosny), wiec transfer go przesunie z 48 do 50 expected points
