We hit some initial snags but got into a groove and deployed roughly 0.975 ETH ($2900+). A tad shy of 1 Eth to 13 first-time minters from the Philippines--for our First Mint Fund Minting Party led by @cryptoartph @ajdimarucot @AriasJopet @motioneer_ Took 4 hours but all worth it!

@SeviLovesArt is a 9yr-old Filipino boy with autism who found a love for art. His career as an #NFT artist was launched by @firstmintfund, a fund that covers the gas fees for first-time NFT creators across Southeast Asia, co-founded by @gabusch & @Goltra.

In countries like Indonesia, Malaysia & Vietnam, the cost of an Ethereum transaction is sometimes on par with the monthly average wage. So the gas fees required to get started with #NFTs are simply unaffordable for many #creators. @CoinDesk @firstmintfund

Thanks to @CoinDesk for inviting me to write this piece about @firstmintfund, which has funded the ethereum gas fees to launch 95 artists from Southeast Asia.

NFTs can be particularly difficult to break into in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, where the value of local currencies pale against the dollar.
