“If you haven’t heard the name Daniel Kelly, you’re going to hear more and more, and more of it, because he’s turning into this generation’s Mel Kiper over social media. He’s called First Round Mock.”

Caleb Williams is getting sacked and absorbing the subsequent contact an average of 3 times per game this season (12 sacks in 4 games). His time to throw has dropped to a career-low this season. His time to throw just keeps getting slower and slower and slower each season.

FIRST ROUND MOCK retweeted
A college quarterback turned down eight million dollars to stay where he already was.
Today his team beat Tennessee.
The offer was eight million over two years, from a school that wanted him to transfer. He was 19 years old.
Here is what his father said about it.
"He was offered all kinds of crazy numbers."
"We didn't come here to make money."
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
His name is LaNorris Sellers. His father is Norris Sellers. They are from Florence, South Carolina.
Understand that this was not a kid with nowhere else to go.
He went to South Florence High School all four years and took them to a state championship as a senior, 57 to 30. He was the player of the year in that town and the offensive MVP of the Shrine Bowl.
He committed to Virginia first. Then he changed it to Syracuse. Then in December of 2022 he signed with South Carolina instead, about an hour and a half up the road from his house.
He sat his first year behind Spencer Rattler and played three games.
Then they gave him the job and he was the best freshman in the Southeastern Conference. He threw for 2,534 yards and ran for 674 more. Nine wins. A top 15 ranking. They beat Missouri, Texas A&M and Clemson in the same season.
That is when the phone calls started.
Here is what he says about why he did not pick up.
"I've built relationships here, my family's here, my brother's here."
His younger brother Jayden plays receiver on the same team.
His father says it was never really a debate.
"There were several talks, but it never really crossed his mind."
Now be honest about the two years since. They went 4 and 8 last season after being ranked tenth in the country, which is about as bad as a year can go. He came into today 2 and 3. He has thrown 19 interceptions in his career and his completion percentage has gone down, not up.
Eight million dollars is also a sum of money most people reading this will never see, and there is no version of this where turning it down was obviously correct.
His father said the quiet part out loud about that.
"Who's gonna say no to eight million dollars for two years?"
The answer is almost nobody, and that is exactly the point.
Teenagers get that call and they go, and they are not wrong to go.
This one stayed, in the state he grew up in, at the school an hour from his mother's house, on a team where his little brother catches his passes.
And today, on a bad season, against the eleventh ranked team in America, the Volunteers came to South Carolina and lost.
Arch Manning produced his fastest time to throw since he took over as the starter (Pro Football Focus: 2.51 seconds vs. Ole Miss).
I maintained a first round grade on Abdul Carter in his last two seasons of game film before the 2025 NFL Draft.

All Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams are doing is going against league tendencies.
It’s that simple.
NFL defensive philosophy is explained.
Johnson’s play calling philosophy is explained.

***All supporting evidence is attached. The Bears offensive focus is to run the ball and throw short passes and to control the time of possession.
Beating the Bears and Caleb Williams is simple.
Flood 0-9 yards from the line of scrimmage with defenders to focus on stopping the run and the short passing game and Williams is done. That’s what Brian Flores did and Williams went 57.7% in week 2. Flores knows what Williams is so he exposed him and I know what Williams is as well that’s why I wrote about how to expose him before that Vikings game even happened: xitter.cf/firstroundmock/status/…
2026 NFL Regular Season Caleb Williams Fact ✅

• Per Team Rankings, Chicago has the most rushing attempts per game in the NFL (35.1).

NEW: Oklahoma QB John Mateer after a season best performance against Mississippi State:
"I woke up in the middle of night and something told me to forgive yourself. Real powerful stuff. And I only say that now because I hope everybody hears that."

Arch Manning looks happy. It’s the first time this season I’ve seen him look genuinely happy.
He’s fought through adversity and he hasn’t given up, and that too is a piece to his evaluation puzzle 🧩
