Oof #LibraryTwitter . I’m seeing white librarians here and on other platforms sharing that their workplaces are safe and welcoming for minority groups and while *you* may think that, it’s not your declaration to make.
To the white man who barely stopped at the light I was crossing who said my flipping him off wasn’t very Christian - Jesus wouldn’t have been indignant.
It’s really interesting how people who demonstrate such selfishness scream the loudest about religion.
If a board president has to constantly check with legal to make sure they’re following Robert’s Rules a waste of taxpayer dollars.
An 800+ page book is a lot to read but at ~$15 on Amazon is cheaper than consulting a lawyer to tell you what to do if something passed in committee
I was once given a Dr. Pepper instead of the root beer I ordered. It ruined Dr. Pepper for me forever.
Sometimes I worry that I'm at work for comic value - then I put in the chat that much like me, my internet is unstable.
And that is why you should give me promotion and tenure.
It's funny what sets off grief. I was looking for a document in my Google Drive and I saw a shared document from 2014. Lauren asked me for suggestions on the essay she wrote when applying to library school. I cannot explain the hole that exists in my life where she was.
Having worked in extremely toxic environments, I really value having the community of Black librarians, but I worry that I come across as overly enthusiastic to new people. I’m awkward and I’m just really glad you are here.
This past Christmas my MIL said she was sure one of my BILs would be excited for my gift because she knew it would be a book.
If I gift you a book I’ve thought about not only the book, but if the recipient would enjoy it. It’s hard.

Me, a totally rational adult human sending a professional work email to a colleague: Okay, but can we talk about The Brave Little Toaster?
Public libraries (and the librarians in them) already provide amazing resources with very limited funding. Why are people okay with their tax money going to militarize their police, but god forbid a librarian ask to be paid a living wage.
There are always posts demanding that libraries do more, but so rare are posts demanding libraries be funded better.
Parents... Don't just drop your MIDDLE SCHOOLER off on a college campus with only a vague idea of where to go.
