Właśnie dostałem wstępną zgodę na publikację artykułu naukowego o postrzeganiu społecznym polskiej flagi z godłem w periodyku @flagstudies. 🤓 Teraz jeszcze muszę go napisać… 😱 Uprasza się o trzymanie kciuków. 📷 by Piotr Drabik (CC-BY)

Happy 249th birthday America, got the 1774 Taunton flag out, one of the earliest flags used in the American Revolution. Liberty and Union, then and now.

Thank you to NAVA (@flagstudies) for the welcome packet and the spare copy of Vexillum 30 lol The historical 1992 to 1996 Comoros flag is a nice addition, and it's even the tilted stars variant too

Today, we celebrate the 141th birthday of our beautiful national flag. 🇪🇪 The first Estonian flag remains the world’s oldest national flag preserved in its original form. For generations, the blue-black-white has united us, brought joy, and given hope. May it continue to do so.

Flag for the North American Vexillology Association's 2025 meeting in Seattle, Washington, United States @flagstudies
The flag of NAVA 59 is based on the geography of Seattle, with either side representing the lush green hills and mountains around Seattle. The chevron layout also represents a “V” for vexillology and the inverted chevron in the NAVA flag. In the center is the Space Needle, the most prominent landmark of Seattle, on a teal blue sky. The teal and white are borrowed from the flag of Seattle, where they represent the colors of Puget Sound at dusk. The ratio is 3:5. This description comes from NAVA's website. End alt text.

Finally, the big announcement everyone has been waiting for...the winner of the design contest for new Maine flag! Voters will decide on the Nov. ballot whether to replace the current flag (right) with the new/old one (left) — it's an update of the 1909 flag.

'It belongs to everyone': The history of Estonia's first flag

The history of what became the Estonian flag was tumultuous from the start, but the very first blue, black and white flag, hidden for well over a century, still remains today.
