This was the title of my recent Reddit post, which received a lot of positive feedback in the Web Development community. About 12 years ago, when I was around 20 and still a student, I created my first transparent admin template by borrowing money from my mom. She didn’t support that decision back then - and, honestly, she still thinks I'd be better off working for a corporation😊 Surprisingly, the idea worked. We started selling hundreds of copies monthly, generating several thousand dollars - quite significant for a student. Importantly, clients began asking if we could customize templates or build new products for them, and that eventually led to the creation of Flatlogic. Fast forward to today: after selling more than 20,000 licenses and creating over 50 templates, we decided it was the right time to open source them all, as we shift our focus to a new product: our professional vibe-coding platform at Flatlogic. Do you know services like Linktree, where you can share a single link pointing to all your social profiles? Since I started posting more content recently, I thought about getting one too. But then realized - wait a sec! I have Flatlogic AI Engineer, why not build one myself? It's not exactly the main use-case for our tool, but I gave it a try. Just 20 minutes of chatting with the AI, clarifying a few things, and here we are - my very own custom "Linktree-like" page: philip.flatlogic.app/ Funny part? It's actually a TRUE full-stack app, complete with a backend. If later I want to track clicks or add analytics and integrations - I'm good to go! Feels pretty cool to quickly build something useful, even if it’s just a small page.

A year ago, we had a great launch on @AppSumo (lnkd.in/dJR3CnDk) with @Flatlogic Generator. The #1 requested feature was "ability to modify generated apps." "Easy!" we thought - "4-6 months tops!" OMG, how naive! 🤦‍♂️

Y Combinator launches a startup whose marketing copy is so familiar that even ChatGPT thought it was describing @flatlogic Generator 😅 I ran a blind test with ChatGPT (with my memories of course), feeding it the description of that tool, and it guessed Flatlogic Generator. See the screenshot for yourself. We have been delivering on these promises since December 2022, though we have no YC funding, no shiny badges - just results, being bootstrapped from the ground up. And this isn’t the first time. YC backed another similar startup in W24 (external + internal competition 😅 ), which only reconfirms - we are on the right track.
