There needs to be root and branch changes when it comes to equipping police officers with the knowledge and confidence to tackle this hatred.
It’s the @syptweet officers strolling idly past right as she says Jews are “killers and psychopaths and murderers” that worries me most.

Testimony from former hostage Avinatan Or: "There’s one thing that doesn’t pass. The hunger. I get my food in a way that forces me to ration it myself, and so I have to take control of how much I eat and when. Every few days I get a small sack of canned food that’s supposed to last me until the next delivery. I always choose to put tomorrow ahead of today. I always save the bigger portion for tomorrow. I’d always rather be hungry knowing I have food for tomorrow than be hungry with nothing left to eat. This is hunger. You can’t get used to it." thefp.com/p/i-was-hamas-host…

Proportional representation is an awful voting system, no accountability, no local MP, no way.

This is awful. Can you imagine what someone so callous and uncaring could do if assisted dying was an option?

Nothing says “fighting against the establishment” more than taking £70m+ donations to try and buy the next election 🙄

So impressed by Cape Verde. Hugely positive, no sitting back and hoping for the best. Excellent movement around the pitch too, and the finish for the 2nd goal 👏 👏👏

Still amazes me that Steve Bray can still find enough suckers to donate to him so he can do nothing except be as irritating as he can. Absolute grifter.

That water clarity is an engineering decision, and the math behind it is wilder than the video. Roman aqueducts ran on gravity alone. No pumps, no pressure systems. Engineers carved channels with a gradient so shallow it borders on absurd. The Pont du Gard in southern France drops 2.5 centimeters over 275 meters. That's roughly the thickness of a coin over the length of three football fields. They surveyed that accuracy with plumb lines and wooden leveling instruments. The clarity you're seeing is a direct product of flow velocity. Too steep and the water erodes the channel walls, picks up sediment, turns brown. Too flat and it stagnates. Roman engineers targeted a slope of about 20 centimeters per kilometer, which kept the water moving fast enough to stay fresh but slow enough to stay clear. Before the water reached the city, it passed through multi-chamber settling tanks where velocity dropped near zero. Suspended particles sank. Clean water flowed out the top into the next chamber. Repeat three or four times. Pliny specified the minimum slope in writing. Vitruvius published the exact mortar ratio for hydraulic cement: one part lime to two parts volcanic ash for underwater work. The pozzolana from Pozzuoli reacted with water to form a calcium-aluminum-silicate compound that actually gets stronger the longer it sits submerged. Modern concrete degrades in water. Roman concrete bonds with it. Scale the whole system and it gets harder to process. Eleven aqueducts fed Rome at its peak. Combined output: roughly 1 million cubic meters of water per day. That works out to about 250 gallons per person for a city of one million. Modern New York delivers about 125 gallons per person per day. Ancient Rome had access to double the per capita water supply of the largest city in the United States, running entirely on slope and stone. The Trevi Fountain in Rome is still fed by one of them. Two thousand years, same source, same gravity, same water.

Now Peter Snow has just described her as ‘this amazing woman, audaciously trying to hijack this plane” Really, @channel5? When I started watching Hijack, I assumed the terrorists hijacking the planes would be the bad guys
Watching first ep of Hijacked on @channel5_tv - had to pause and rewind to check they had actually lionised Leila Khaled, prominent terrorist, as ‘glamorous’, ‘dedicated operative’ and ‘a tough character’. Pretty nauseating, tbh

The thing that is really impressive about Kemi at the moment is she’s not just having cut through in the UK, she’s developing a profile around the world. It’s just Jeb, but it’s an example of her profile outside the UK, and that profile adds to the image of a PM in waiting

Hope Mancunians remember that they will be footing the bill for the £million mayoral by-election Andy Burnham’s ambition is going to cause.

Treating voters as fodder to satisfy the ambition of a carpet bagger. Is it any wonder so many people hold politicians in such contempt? I hope Burnham gets the result he deserves and falls flat on his face.
