The trouble with Mike Flanagan's loose adaptation of Carrie is that it ends up as Stranger Things.
The prom scene was a complete letdown because Flanagan chose to take Carrie's rage away and have another psychic destroy the school, town, and kill the bullies instead. 1/2

Fancied something in the 'so bad it's good' category in the run up to Halloween. #NowWatching Charles Band's TerrorVision (1986)
Now watching the documentary The Fear of God: 25 Years of The Exorcist: The Festival Cut while still putting up my Halloween decorations.
The only ways to see the film in the UK during the '80s and '90s were either on a bootleg VHS tape or at a late night cinema screening.
Thought I would put on a very old documentary from 1991 that was shown on Channel 4, Fear of the Dark, while I put up my Halloween decorations.
I was 16 at the time of its first broadcast, and I must have watched this loads after recording it on to VHS.
Looks like the far right, anti-vaxxers, Joe Rogan podcast listeners, and Trump cock holsters are all getting their knickers in a twist over the latest South Park episode. 😂
Just watched, Teenage Sex Death at Camp Miasma aka I Saw the Silver Screen Glow.
Bit of Cronenberg, bit of Friday 13th, an element of Elm Street 4.
It takes meta to the Nth degree.
Both actresses were amazing, and the film was brilliantly directed. 1/
