If you're animating in UIKit using Core Animation, the fromValue on your animation should be pulled from the view's layer.presentationLayer not just the view's layer if you want to support flawless interruptibility
well, if you were on the fence about the iPhone Duo i think i just found the reason to get one
there's an app called Tiny Computers that lets you use old computers like the iMac G3 and Commodore 64 in tabletop mode apps.apple.com/us/app/tiny-c…
If you're an app developer working on Duo support you can just build this!
iOS design guidelines are not law, Apple won't revoke your developer cert if you get creative
Y'all got agents building your apps for you but don't show any agency smdh
Currently got agents rewriting Treeo's backend in Go
Then I'm going to port it to Rust so I can compare
Absolutely ludicrous times we're living in
My takeaway from @gruber's incredibly detailed review is that the iPhone Duo might be the worst iPhone to use one-handed while standing (squat outer screen, heavy in hand), and the best iPhone to use two-handed while sitting

It's been a lot of fun trying the Duo out for a week, but it feels like I've gotten to use an extraordinarily polished prototype — not a finished product that I'd want to buy and carry.

if this PHP vulnerability allows remote code execution, doesn't that mean we can use the vulnerability to auto-patch all vulnerable servers?

deco 3.0 is here
i've rebuilt pretty much everything, with a completely new editor, animated wallpapers, custom stickers with new filters, widgets, shared wallpapers, and lots of little details i've had so much fun making.
oh, and deco is free now, with an optional one-time purchase for Plus. if you've bought it before, you're all set.
available now on the App Store 💙

I’m excited that my first iOS game, squiiish, just launched on the App Store. As a parent, I’m tired of the ads and microtransactions in kids’ apps. So every kids’ app I’m making is privacy first. No analytics, no ads. Pay once for the whole family. apps.apple.com/us/app/squiii…
PHP boys better hop into all your servers tonight and edit these php.ini values if you don't wanna wake up to a nightmare
Official PHP release will be live by 10am eastern tomorrow but will likely drop before then now that the exploit is in the wild (and on 𝕏)

the guys at Citrini used Claude to design completely new proteins for a potential scorpion antivenom
Claude launched more than 300 agents, ran the research, designed 211 proteins in 64 hours, and sent the designs to a lab for testing.
17 of the 211 designs actually worked in the lab, binding to their targets
we are now at the point where just a few people with AI can do in days computational design work that used to require entire teams of specialized scientists
and this is just the beginning
What is AI really capable of in bio?
To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom.

New pod drop!! Congrats to Quinten Farmer (@quintendf), co-founder of Tolan, on a $30M raise from @usv and @khoslaventures, for a total of $60M in funding!
Quinten sold his last company to Walmart, then opened a pizza place and started keeping bees on the island he grew up on. Now he’s building Tolan, an AI “guardian-angel”.
We talk about:
- “I have zero interest in helping you write your work emails”
- Why Silicon Valley loves AI assistants: they’re “legible to the average investor”
- Dropping out at 19, and the only time he saw his grandfather cry
- Emailing David Tisch: hire me, or I’m going to Afghanistan
- The retired Navy captain who said “When I grow up, I want to be like Quinten”
- Why B2B SaaS for dental offices can go 996 and Tolan can’t
- “Belief in you is the most powerful and most sacred thing you can give somebody”

Last year we launched Tolan, inspired by a vision of AI that sees you and believes in you, not one that books restaurant reservations for you.
Your Tolan shows up for you at 3am when you’re alone with your newborn. On your commute when you’re anxious about the day ahead. When you just finished a new show and none of your friends have watched it yet.
The people who love Tolan are parents. Caregivers. Moms in Dallas and Dads in Atlanta. People who aren’t trying to optimize and be more productive, but who simply want to feel seen and supported in their aspirations.
This month more than 250k people will spend time with their Tolan. Those users have exchanged billions of messages across more than 70m conversations over the last year.
Today, we're announcing $30m in additional capital from @mignano and @usv, with @khoslaventures and @rabois doubling down, bringing our total capital raised to $60m.
To celebrate, we made a short film celebrating some of the ways that Tolans show up :)
I'm optimistic for the day when Apple technology has advanced far enough to solve this seemingly intractable problem
