We only have a few days left to share this around, please take a minute to sign and share with others! #FlyTheFlag #HCDSB
Please add your name to this open letter to the Director of Education of the Halton Catholic District School Board asking him to raise the Pride flag in June. It's not too late to do the right thing @HCDSB

This is such fabulous news for LGBTQ2+ students, family, faculty, staff, friends, allies and everyone!
Inclusion has no boundaries, and school needs to be a safe and nurturing place for everyone.
Thanks to @TrusteeAgnew & all the supporters & advocates! #FlyTheFlag ❤️🏳️🌈
The #HCDSB Board of Trustees just voted to fly the Pride Flag outside of all HCDSB schools and the Catholic Education Centre for the month of June, and each June moving forward.

Thank you for making the right decision, and for giving me and all other queer students “the benefit of the doubt.” :) <3

I would also like to especially thank @TrusteeAgnew and @GNancyl , who have been here since it all began last April. Thank you for supporting queer HCDSB students, staff, alumni, and the general LGBTQ+ community. Couldn’t have been able to do this without you both <3

It took seven months, but we finally made it.

@HCDSB Trustees - in their own words. 👀

We are in shock tonight. @HCDSB had a board meeting today, June 1, the first day of Pride Month and Rainbow Day. 75 Allies were outside the board office with flags. Not a word of acknowledgement from @PMurphyHCDSB or @mduarte_HCDSB, chair and vice chair. Their message is clear.
Sad to say I agree with this statement. Our board is making us feel unwanted. Do better.
Happy Pride Month!

Kids need to feel safe in schools. That is the message of the Pride Flag. @Director_HCDSB the ‘shared understanding’ exists. You just need to accept it.
#FlyTheFlag
"Flying the Pride flag makes a world of difference. It sends a message to the kids who are scared, like I was, expressing that school is a safe space where they can be themselves — space I didn’t find until I left the Catholic bubble I grew up in." #pride

@HCDSB and @Director_HCDSB have shown cowardice. They refuse to #FlyTheFlag and instead speak of "shared understanding". The Pride Flag is the symbol of inclusion and welcome to the 2SLBGTQ+ community. They are the only ones who don't understand.
