The next generation of @GraalVM is shaping up nicely: fast startup, low CPU and memory usage, with no build step or project changes required! 🚀
Here’s a simple benchmark using a single-file program:
Still a work in progress, but you can try the early access builds today:

Ever heard of dynamic meta-compilation?
Truffle uses partial evaluation to turn interpreters into optimized machine code without requiring you to write a compiler.
We’ve added docs explaining how it works. Readable by humans, too: github.com/oracle/graal/blob…
Curious what’s new in @GraalVM? Meet me at:
🇧🇪 @Devoxx BE · Oct 5–9
🇨🇭 @jugch, Zurich · Oct 20
🇨🇭 GraalVM Community Summit · Oct 21–22
🇲🇦 @DevoxxMA · Nov 4–5
I’ll share the latest – from Native Image, Python, and WebAssembly to @OracleDatabase.

Yes, 💯%. Native compilation via @graalvm remains a very important tool available to developers in JVM languages to achieve excellent startup/memory characteristics for their applications.
The JVM alone probably can't beat Rust. But here is what is amazing about JVM languages... 3 top 15 languages are JVM native and each have ways to go native if/when you want. GraalVM Native Image (which works for any JVM language), Kotlin Native, and Scala Native.
People really underestimate the value of languages that can both be JVM and native.
I've extensively used all 3 of these languages and the native options aren't a step-down escape hatch when you need to go serverless or CLI... The ability to target both JVM and native is the super power!
When I need native in prod I don't actually do native in dev. Local dev is on the JVM because compile & hot-reload time is quick. And then in CI/CD I build for native, test against native, and deploy native.
Turns out... You can have your cake and eat it too (native performance, JVM enterprisey-ness, and local dev happiness). All in 3 great, ubiquitous languages!
Come and join @alina_yurenko and me for another @GraalVM release party! 🎉 We've got a lot of updates and new features to talk about. Details below👇 - see you there!
Join us next Tuesday at 5 PM CET / 8 AM PT for @GraalVM 25.1 release party!🎉

GraalVM CE can now sandbox untrusted JavaScript and WebAssembly code! 🚀
As AI generates more and more of the code we run, the ability to execute it safely matters more than ever.
We have more coming that builds on this, so stay tuned!

GraalWasm just got faster! 🔥
The new threaded interpreter delivers significantly better interpreter performance. In interpreter benchmarks, total execution time is reduced by 5-40%!

Excited to speak at #WasmCon Europe next Monday about bringing #WebAssembly to the JVM ecosystem with @GraalVM.
I’ll demo GraalWasm in a Spring Boot app and show how GraalVM can compile JVM apps to Wasm for browser, mobile, and cloud. Join us!

GraalVM in action: wouldn't it be cool to move your workload from using 43 replicas to 12, and CPU cores from 15 to 5, reducing resources usage by ~67%? You can do so with @GraalVM Native Image!

GraalVM Native Image is ~3.5x faster than SapMachine… 😉
… in @parttimen3rd's version string benchmark.
Why? The `native-image` launcher is a native image itself. So it starts up much faster, and uses fewer CPU and memory resources!
