Not only does Forest Dunes No. 10 present a "Decision" as the hole's name implies, but No. 6 "Gamble" does as well.

Tom Weiskopf enjoyed a remarkable career, winning 16 PGA Tour titles—along with the 1973 British Open. In many ways, however, his career as a course designer eclipsed what he accomplished as a player—including popularizing the drivable par four. With one of his final designs, Utah’s Black Desert Resort, in the spotlight as host to the PGA Tour’s Bank of Utah Championship, Weiskopf’s architecture takes center stage once more. linksmagazine.com/top-12-tom…

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Duchess this morning. It was discovered on Monday that the spunky sidekick of The Loop course superintendent Rob Falconer had a large cancerous tumor in her abdomen. She visited with coworkers yesterday and made one "last loop" around her beloved course, riding and running her favorite holes. She was laid to rest this morning.. Not only did employees love giving her belly rubs and cookies, but guests did too. A common question at check in at the golf shop was "Is Duchess working today?" She was featured in magazine, videos and merchandise. She always carried her Forest Dunes' ambassador and goose chasing roles with pride and grace. When she wasn't chasing wildlife around property, she was riding shotgun with dad, or sprawled out on the front seat of her cart in front of the clubhouse while waiting patiently for someone to notice her and her pretty bows. Every once in a long while she would get in trouble for not being where she was supposed to be or finding some mud. The twinkle in your eye was missing the last several days and now we know why. Your pain has ended and your new life begun. We love and miss you already Duchess. We welcome all our guests to share their memories and photos of Duchess on this post.
