Four years ago, I wrote the world's greatest tweet. After months of therapy, I'm finally ready to share how my life has changed since then: fortes.com/2017/one-good-twe…

Really like Deno, sad they'll stop maintaining it. But I get it, they've been at this for years. Bun's juiced with Anthropic money, hard to compete. Agents porting my Deno projects to Bun. If you're doing the same, first move from Deno apis to `node:` libraries. Easy first step.

To clarify: I used deno for a bunch of CLI tools because it had a bunch of security features that allowed for fine-grained access restrictions. The team will invest in `workerd` and other stuff that is cool, just doesn't fit my scenarios here.

Astounding how many times I notice my laptop is getting hot and it's some random Chrome tab I opened days ago and haven't gotten around to reading Are this just bad ad / surveillance scripts gone amok? Or are we back to mining crypto or something?

every good company i’ve ever interviewed with has sent a car (usually black car) it’s very weird to not send a car and also, when you’re interviewing, you should be on your company's uber coprorate account i don’t see why this is controversial

Former employees very, very rarely get to participate in secondaries, so you're looking at a decade+ before liquidity (often w/ a very short exercise window) May still be a good trade for experience, but the financial side can be quite rough
Most founders demand loyalty, but you can't ask for a commitment you can't return (nobody can promise a job for life.) My advice is always to offer a tour of duty instead: a defined mission, 2–4 years, with clear outcomes for the company and the person's career.

After all this time, it turns out the key to the US playing well was having 4 quarters, ad breaks, Katy Perry, and playing in an NFL stadium

A thread of @figma agent prompt examples / screen recordings I helped bring to life to get you started on automations (with 🎵 made on my OP-XY): 🧵 1.) Explore design directions Prompt: Give me 3 style options for this design, one that's organic, one modern, and one retro.

Big day today! Excited to finally be able to share what I've been working on at @figma for the past six months: The Figma Design Agent Now you have a built-in AI helper in your Figma files for iterating on ideas or automating boring grunt work without ever leaving the canvas

Working nights and weekends used to hit diminishing returns fast. With agents, it takes much longer before contributions go negative

For decades, ~50 hours a week was a sustainable sweet spot of getting things done, with ample non-work time to let ideas simmer and evolve We're still far from an equilibrium now, but it's 70+ hours and deep thinking (and home life) get squeezed
