"The dominant corporations of today achieved their preeminence not through their ability to produce electrical equipment, steel, aircraft, or software better than their competitors, but by buying up those competitors in the stock market" (Toporowski, 2016, p. 4).
Apparently, Bolsonaro refuses to accept the election results. Does the guy not know basic arithmetic? Someone should explain to him that 4.5 million votes is not the same as 4.5 thousand.
The Serbs have won an important victory, but the real battle is still ahead. Now they’ll have to defend their right to pursue an independent economic policy.
Under the banner of European integration, Brussels will demand the usual package of outdated neoliberal reforms. I’m afraid this is a battle the Serbs are going to lose.
So do Brazilians just save themselves the trouble of voting in the first round, knowing there’ll probably be a runoff anyway, and then show up in droves for the second?
Vučić is finished. Now the main thing is to hope the Kremlin doesn’t start putting economic pressure on Serbia to punish Serbs for making the “wrong” choice.
