Mastering Excessive Workload: From Mental Overwhelm to Inner Calm In today’s demanding work environment, mounting responsibilities, tight deadlines, and competing priorities can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure where to begin. Yet, the challenge may not lie solely in the volume of work itself, but also in the thoughts and emotions that shape how we respond to these demands. In “Mastering Excessive Workload: Integrating the Buddha’s Teachings, Classical Wisdom Traditions with Modern Cognitive Science,” Dr. Paitoon Songkaeo takes us on a journey to explore the psychological roots of work-related overwhelm. Drawing on Buddhist teachings, the wisdom of Indian and Chinese philosophies, contemplative traditions of the Abrahamic faiths, and modern cognitive science, the article offers insights into how we can transform our mindset and respond to workplace pressures more effectively. From wise reflection and mindfulness of breathing to letting go of excessive expectations and breaking overwhelming tasks into smaller, manageable steps, these practical approaches encourage us to regain mental clarity, focus on what needs to be done, and approach our responsibilities with greater balance. Ultimately, the article reminds us that even amid demanding workloads, we can learn to navigate challenges with greater awareness and resilience—one step and one breath at a time. 📖 Read the full article English: thailandfoundation.or.th/mas… Thai: thailandfoundation.or.th/%E0… 🎬 Watch the accompanying videos on YouTube English: youtu.be/dBpoytJ-2Io Thai: youtu.be/Q5qiRiH6yaQ YouTube Short: youtube.com/shorts/jDLjNBiEa… #ThailandFoundation #buddhism #spiritualvalues #meditation #mentalhealth
