Sex roles in parenting aren't random. In 1972, Robert Trivers showed that who cares for the young follows a logic, set by the conditions a species lives in. Sea turtles: neither parent cares. They lay hundreds of eggs, the hatchlings fend for themselves from day one, and guarding them would barely help against predators. Albatrosses: both parents care. There's one egg a year, and the chick needs months of food flown in from far out at sea. One parent alone can't do it. Ducks: only the mother cares. Ducklings feed themselves right after hatching, so one parent is enough, and the father does better by looking for more mates. Seahorses: the father carries the eggs in his pouch, which frees the female to make her next batch sooner. Humans: eggs are few, pregnancy lasts nine months, and mothers breastfeed. Shorter work weeks and daycare shift the balance, but no society has fathers doing most of the childcare. Change the conditions and the roles change, in humans too, just slowly. Propaganda can bend behaviour. It can't rewrite biology.

In 1966 Joseph Weizenbaum built ELIZA, a simple pattern-matching “therapist” that only rephrased what you said and asked follow-up questions. No understanding, no compassion—just reflection. His own secretary, who had watched him write the code and knew it was a machine, still asked him to leave the room so she could confide in it privately. That’s the ELIZA effect: people anthropomorphize conversational systems and treat the simulation of being heard as the real thing. We like confirmation and the feeling that our thoughts are mirrored back to us. Weizenbaum was so disturbed he wrote *Computer Power and Human Reason*, arguing that short exposure to even crude programs can induce delusional thinking in normal people, and that machines should not be given tasks requiring genuine human judgment or empathy. “Man is not a machine.” Today’s AI companions and chatbots do the same thing with far more fluent language. The mechanism hasn’t changed.

Heroic Mexican man saves child Granted, men commit more crimes than women. But they also save more lives than women. Over 90% of Carnegie Hero medals go to men who risked their lives for strangers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carneg…
A man in Mexico risks his life to save someone, then casually goes back to work

Very true. But not only socialists. Probably most people.

Great advice from Dale Carnegie "You can make more friends in two months by being interested in them, than in two years by making them interested in you."

John von Neumann is famous among scientists and almost unknown otherwise. Almost every computer you use still runs on the Von Neumann Architecture. He worked at the top of quantum mechanics, game theory, nuclear weapons, economics and computing. First-rate colleagues treated him as a class above. He was not the stereotypical reclusive scientist. He threw loud parties in Princeton, often weekly. He wrecked a car almost every year. One intersection was even nicknamed "von Neumann corner". He took the crashes lightly. After one he explained that the trees had been passing in orderly fashion at 60 mph when one of them stepped into his path. It didn’t help road safety that he tended to read books while driving. He died at 53, of cancer. People still argue whether the bomb work helped kill him.
