Tim Sweeney is criticizing Valve again over Steam’s requirement for developers to disclose their use of generative AI.
The Epic Games CEO called the policy “abhorrent,” arguing that developers are being forced to make a “political statement” that could be used against them by a “hate mob.”
Sweeney has been criticizing the policy since 2025, previously comparing the disclosure to a “Scarlet Letter” and arguing that AI will eventually be part of almost every game production process.
Ok not to sound insensitive since jobs are on the line but why does it feel like 2XKO announcing they're shutting down seem like a publicity stunt?
Since the announcement they are adding characters and now skins??

You know, shouldn't be there a case for the use of AI to be false advertising? If you AI generate a picture of food not have at least a disclaimer saying "picture is AI generated for illustration purposes only"?

Regarding the SF movie:
Thank God chunners is not in the movie as much as the marketing made it seem like she would be, sorry but she was "I'm trying too hard to be cool and edgy" cringe and was best used to just move the plot along.
I honestly went into street fighter with low expectations.
But I have to say the framing for it worked. Set in the 90s, with some surprising lore references.
I will say I had to see it as a split timeline thing. Like an MCU movie.
