After a year in America, I'm moving back to England. I wrote about why for @TheFP "I’m beginning to see that there is bravery and agency in staying. It’s also a risk to put down foundations, to bind ourselves to places and people. Staying in a marriage, staying in a country, sticking with commitments long enough to build a legacy: All of that takes courage too. And I think more and more of my generation want those things. We want marriages that last. We want countries that feel familiar. We want to have a home. The boomers rebelled against settling in a lot of ways. But many young adults, born into the chaos they left behind, can now only dream of it. They were desperate for freedom; many of their children and grandchildren have been left desperate for roots." thefp.com/p/im-moving-back-t…

"One standard that is valid is not wanting your partner to watch pornography. [...] This is something men can change, and a standard any man can meet." 100% true and don't trust any man who says otherwise.

Dating is making a lot of young singles feel defective. Almost all the advice out there starts with the same assumption: There is something wrong with you. But what if there’s nothing wrong with who you are, but something wrong with where you are? A recent study shows that the place you live—not your personality, politics, or appearance—might be to blame. Read @freyaindiaa’s full essay here: bit.ly/3TUfLNV

Having difficulty dating w/ an eye towards marriage? Maybe it's not you. Maybe it's where you live. @freyaindiaa:
"Modern dating is making a lot of young singles feel defective. Almost all the advice out there starts with the same assumption: There is something wrong with you. Work out more. Earn more money. Heal your inner child. Looksmaxx. Optimize every inch of your face and body and life to finally be lovable. Become the best product on the market." @freyaindiaa thefp.com/p/heres-where-to-f…

If you can’t find someone to marry, maybe the problem isn’t you. Maybe it's where you live. My latest on the new @FamStudies Marriage Map, which shows the best and worst places in the US to find love: thefp.com/p/heres-where-to-f…
