Today I was honored by Congressman Jose Serrano for Women’s History Month — for my activism and advocacy for women in the Bronx 😭❤️ I can’t believe I shared a stage with such incredible women.

A regulated nervous system still gets angry. A regulated nervous system still feels fear. A regulated nervous system still feels rage. A regulated nervous system still gets sad. A regulated nervous is a biological state of safety. A regulated nervous system is NOT a flatline of endless “calm”. It is the capacity to experience the full, vibrant, & sometimes messy spectrum of human emotions without getting permanently stuck in them.

I've been radically releasing myself from shame. Yeah that wasn't my best moment. Yeah that broke my heart. Yeah that was a rough time for me. Yeah that was embarrassing. Okay? So what?

I saw a post about how our children will remember the little rituals we create, the songs we play, the meals we cook, and how safe they felt being themselves. And it made me think about what a huge responsibility it is to create a home inside someone’s memory. What a privilege to have chosen this. I think that’s what parenting is. Understanding the weight of the responsibility and taking it on proudly.

It’s actually crazy how you grow up thinking home-cooked meals every day are just normal, then get older and realise how much time and effort it took your Mom to make that happen and how lucky you were to have that.

Passive learning is the most seductive form of procrastination because it flatters the ego. You feel like you're building something, but you're really just hiding from the friction of execution.
If you're smart but feeling stuck, please stop confusing learning with progress. Reading books, watching videos, and taking notes can feel productive. But nothing changes until you actually do the work.

Reading exposes the gaps in your knowledge, but writing forces you to actually close them. You never truly know what you think until you try putting it in sentences.

It's actually classist. What's racist is you assuming the lower class is all of a different race than you. Also assuming a family of 5, that's $20 a person vs $9. You're upset that you are paying $11 more than someone who literally cannot afford food? What's wrong with you

You don’t solve poverty by teaching everyone to become millionaires. You solve poverty by building an economy where ordinary work can produce a decent life.

The older I get, the more this comes into focus. The smartest people I know love to talk and theorize. The most successful people I know have insane motion. They get things done. They connect people. They just do things without talking themselves out of it. Momentum is an unlock.
Friendly reminder: the world is run by high agency people, not smart people. Stop consuming information and start taking insane levels of action.

This is exactly how you damage their central nervous system. They’re going to do stupid shit and you freaking out about it is not going to help.
Those poor children, they haven't given consent to this putting on out for the world to see. This mum needs some serious healing and support.

That being said- this poor mom is so overstimulated. If her husband was not recording, she could’ve crashed out away from her children, while he cleaned up, spoke to their kids about being more careful and given them a new plate.
