For years we've been overwhelmed by the volume of code contributions we have to review, especially from new contributors. AI has made the problem much worse. We are taking steps to reduce the burden on maintainers while still welcoming new contributors: godotengine.org/article/cont…

I just made a #Godot tutorial on creating a simple third person camera system from scratch 🎥 We also add polish: smooth the camera (sensitivity & damping), and demonstrate a tweak to player movement code to move & rotate in the camera's direction #gamedev youtu.be/ZKrBsDmU-l4

Something a little bit different today... how do we translate our movement with a rotating camera? A short < 3 min (rather shaky, sorry) tutorial, exploring 2D/3D co-ordinate spaces and vector transformations. Featuring rubber duck! youtu.be/UlO7cMZkHdI #godot #gamedev

I've just released a Basic 3D Character Controller for #Godot! 🤖 Jump into a #gamedev project with an animated character who can walk, run, & roll 🔧 Customise settings eg. speeds, variable jump, acceleration 🎥 Contains a standalone third person camera patreon.com/posts/basic-3d-1…

I HIGHLY recommend this tool; you can import any 3D model - human, avian, quadruped, and now spider and snake!? - easily rig & animate it, and export the animations you want. Similar to Adobe's Mixamo but entirely Adobe-free... please support this creator!
🎉 Mesh2Motion Release 10 Out 🎉 - Spider and Snake rigs with 16 animations - Simple bone positioning to snap to mesh instead using a 3d transform widget - Many other small improvements Check out the full release 10 notes with all changes: mesh2motion.org/news Try it out and any feedback welcome: app.mesh2motion.org/

A little open source delight... a prototype using a single texture from Kenney's prototype assets, the built-in #Godot icon to texture Godotnaut, and Mesh2Motion animations. I'll make this one available on GitHub along with a tutorial so you can code it yourself soon! #gamedev

Here's a new tutorial in my #Godot3D series! We get acquainted with Godot's scripting language (GDScript) and script editor. We (re)examine Node hierarchies and Classes, learn coding basics (variables/properties, functions, and if statements) and input youtu.be/BIW22YSe5nY
