Rwenzori/Albertine #MSMEWeek2026 is underway in Fort Portal 🌿
Theme: Making MSMEs Green and Decent. Anchored by the WeWork project (Green & Decent Jobs for Youth)
What we heard 🧵
Chief Guest Edmund Bashaasha (@StateHouseUg) to government offices: engage the youth and make your doors easy to reach.
To the youth: tell us your pain points and what you need from us. Share contacts. Learn from each other. 🤝
At the exhibition, @URAuganda, @MSCuganda, @CentenaryBank, @ugwildlife, @UEDCLTD and @swico_uganda joined a panel that gave SMEs a platform to put business pain points straight to the service providers.

📽️ We are not here to run you to the ground like many people try to make you believe. @URAuganda has put many ways to promote voluntary compliance. For SMEs with a turnover below sh150m, you qualify to pay taxes under the presumptive tax regime. - URA's Peter Mugabe during the West Nile MSME Week while addressing SMEs on tax compliance during the agro-inputs, produce aggregation and horticulture Apiary and honey value addition masterclass.

We also visited Kabale Village Women Agroprocessors’ Group and FE-Catchy Enterprise. They sell potatoes and process potato flour, turning harvests into higher-value products.
Our Executive Director @JohnWalugembe commended PUM and pledged to keep the partnership going even after the project ends. 🤝
