Our new article on spinal motor behaviour in CLBP has just been published in #OA in @EFIC_org
➡️changes in motor behaviour (pain and cogntion-related, not biomechanical) were associated with reduction in disability

Why patients don’t stick to home programs:
1) the programs don’t make sense to them
2) there was not connecting the dots to why the exercises will help them
3) no thought was put into picking them (paper handout?!?!)
4) no trust was built between the provider and patient

Does #CovidVaccination cause changes to #periods? Biggest and best study so far...
In summary: on average, periods are delayed by ~half day by dose 2 of the vaccine, and delayed by ~2 days if you get both doses in the same cycle. But it's temporary! 🧵

Trauma-informed care alongside #postpartum care is incredibly important but unfortunately not discussed enough!
Any other #pelvichealth #womenshealthphysio finding that there seems to be a lot more #trauma for women in relation to the labour and births? I am finding lack of follow up care is taking its toll! #postnatal #covidbabies #antenatal #butnotmaternity #thishurts

For every person eulogising about home working, I guarantee there are many more who don’t have a suitable space to work in, aren’t able to detach themselves from work at home and their mental health is being massively impacted by never seeing anyone or going anywhere.
While #workingfromhome can
provide more balance & flexibility,
there are extra risks
including:
- Increased risk of Burnout.
- Loneliness & Isolation.
- Ergonomic Issues (neck & back).
- Difficulty Detaching from Work.

But, when you can help a pelvic floor patient who has seen 14 other doctors who have told them it’s in their head, it’s as rewarding as a good oncologic outcome. We need to teach pelvic floor better, especially for CR/GS/GI trainees @PelvicGuru1
