Durty Nellie’s in Palatine poured its last round Sunday after 54 years.
A $1.4 million kitchen fire in 2019 forced a 10-month rebuild. Four months after reopening, Pritzker’s COVID order shut the bars.
Six years later, it sold to Big Grove, an Iowa brewery. Palatine is putting up to $1.75 million in property taxes toward the project, and up to $100,000 toward the entrance. The remodel removes the stage.
Another one bites the dust.
