because the iPhone 18 Pro has INSANELY fast display response times compared to the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and Air, it's 2x faster than before i don't think anyone talked about it though i've felt the same kind of difference in the past with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro or later, it was all in the response times of the display
It’s not visible properly in the video but why is iPhone 18 Pro more responsive than the 17 in basic tasks 😭

Amazing endorsement of X. This really is where you'll find the most optimistic, forward-looking people in tech.
The poll so far between Twitter, Bluesky and Mastodon. I think it looks less absurd than last time, but still pretty clear that the base is divided. xitter.cf/mitsuhiko/status/21143…

It should be insulting to every American that the mayor of our largest city is a guy who became a citizen less than a decade ago and now spends his time coaching illegal aliens in a foreign language on how they can avoid being lawfully deported.
If you encounter ICE, here's what every New Yorker should know.

OpenDNS, out. Quad9, out.

I built github.com/angristan/koliko to track token usage across my devices. It's a pi extension + a simple analytics backend on cloudflare workers ☺️

Can an STT model make sense of a 135 year old recording? I tested @MistralAI new Voxtral transcription model on a noisy French phonograph recording of Gustave Eiffel from 1891. It matched 100 of 107 words in INA’s published excerpts (6.5% WER), while transcribing 75 additional words omitted from the reference. It handled Eiffel’s dictation well but struggled with proper names and some guest dialogue. A fascinating test of modern speech recognition on audio from 1891.
