AI can't do all tasks for most jobs, the coverage is actually pretty sparse Solving this is gated by data on those tasks Where we can build simulators, we get waterfalls of endless data, but currently most tasks are not simulable. We will have to get every bit of data we need. The jagged frontier is smooth when ordered by data. And if you include all forms of economically valuable intelligence, it is mostly empty.

"My generic career advice for young people is that if at all possible, you should aim to work on something that no one has a word for. Spend your energies where we don’t have a name for what you are doing, where it takes a while to explain to your mother what it is you do. When you are ahead of language, that means you are in a spot where it is more likely you are working on things that only you can do. It also means you won’t have much competition.” @kevin2kelly

Every cell on our planet has come from other cells. A single blade of grass is more advanced technology than rockets, medicine and quantum computers. We cannot even come close to creating cells from scratch. And then lets talk about brains, we don't even know how memories are stored or why we sleep! I think it's pretty safe to assume that consciousness is much more complicated than a model you can run on a few couple year old gpus.
