Privacy is paramount. Reason #108 to choose private money. Study zcash:native

🚨ZCASH KEEPS INNOVATING WITH BUILT-IN DEV FUND!
@Grayscale just published a note saying Zcash has continued evolving for 10 years because it builds R&D funding directly into the protocol.
Miners take 80% of block rewards while 20% goes to a Dev Fund.
Most chains rely on venture capital. Zcash is one of the few that doesn’t, using that capital for privacy pool upgrades including the new Ironwood pool with quantum-recoverable addresses.
That ongoing support is a key reason zcash:native has kept shipping through multiple market cycles.
zcash 2 steps ahead and already did this months ago

New on our Frontier Red Team blog: using Claude to formally verify software at large scale.
Formal verification can prove that code is free of certain bugs, but historically it has only been feasible for small codebases (or required a lot of expert time).
With AI models, however, this is beginning to change. In collaboration with @theoremlabs, we used Claude to prove security properties in over one hundred real-world open-source libraries over the span of a few weeks.

I think Monero has value and is probably oversold but ultimately has a lower TAM than Zcash
At first I was a Monero maxi bc I believed in the absolutist view of privacy. All transactions have to be private or else the leakage makes the system non viable
I’ve come around. Money is a social technology. It exists within the context of our society and institutions
Look at a private Swiss bank account. What’s so dope about it? The fact that it’s still a fully functional bank account. The fact you can buy groceries, pay your mortgage, etc… all from the bank account is what makes it dope. If the Swiss account was rejected in 19/20 venues, or you could only buy drugs with it, it would be inherently less valuable
This is the root issue with Monero. Is it private money? Yes. Is it good private money? No, or at least it’s less useful private money. Institutions cannot come around to integrating Monero for the simple fact that sometimes in society, you just have to prove your money is not from terrorist money laundering
Monero is also just less competent than Zcash, which matters during this time of AI stress. No formal verification, No quantum resistance, FCMP++ is cool but on an unknown timeline, etc…

Bitcoiners, you were early once.
You got laughed at, called crazy, and told it was a scam.
Now you're saying the same things about Zcash.
Same 21M cap. Same halvings. Privacy Bitcoin never delivered.
History doesn't repeat. It rhymes.

Want to have your mind blown?
In 1971, the median household income was $9,030, or 220 ounces of gold.
In 2025, it was $87,460, or just 25 ounces of gold.
Your paycheck went up 10x.
Measured in gold, it fell 88%.
To earn what the median household earned in 1971, you’d need about $890,000 per year today.
That’s what fiat debasement looks like.

$ZEC is probably the only sanctuary when AI starts pounding every security wall.

Orchard bug was a blessing.
When the Orchard bug dropped and ZEC went from $600 to $300, you either ran for the exits or realized this was a generational entry opportunity.
Because look at what actually happened:
1. Zcash researchers were already leading the AI + security research direction.
2. No sweeping things under the rug, full public disclosure at the cost of very public fud (including all the "it's unverifiable" takes).
3. They realized formal verification is inevitable, and went all in on it before it was mainstream.
4. Executed a non-backwards compatible hard fork, and pulled off the wallet / exchange / miner comms coordination in weeks (rather than months, and anyone with experience knows crypto coordination is the hard part, not the implementation).
Knowing what to work on, plus the high agency to actually do it. This combo is about to be THE most important skill set in the age of AI.
Most have one, but rarely both. My quants proved they had both. This is important, because from now on you have to assume everything that CAN be compromised WILL be compromised.
Zcash folks realized the best form of defense is going full offense on leading the tech.
"ZEC has no moat because other chains can just upgrade with the same thing" I hear you say.
That's the most midcurve cope take out there.
You can replicate the features, the code, the upgrade. You can't upgrade the team and the culture.
They'll be playing catch up forever, while the Zcash gang is already on the next thing.
The coin is $ZEC, and it's on sale for 1223 united states dollars.
Hodl it and spend it on @vizorwallet.

Whoa. The U.S. added 90% fewer jobs in 2025 than originally reported.
That’s not a rounding error. That’s a massive difference between the economy Americans were told we had and the one we actually had.

The moment Zcash loses PMF, the moment it stops making sense is the moment we sell.
Zcash still has PMF, Zcash still makes sense.
To be even clearer on this, Zcash makes more sense than any other asset on the planet.
All we saying is, we aren't maxis for Zcash.
We are maxis for common sense.
Zcash is common sense made tangible.
Replying to @Bankless
The community has decided to shut down Sprout, following a lengthy debate and concerns regarding security. The amount of ZEC in the pool is very small; however, the coins are not going anywhere, and a method will be developed to allow owners to recover them.

Yesterday the Zcash Foundation board named me Executive Director. Thank you to Alex for steady leadership through a tumultuous stretch, and to everyone who has reached out this week.
The job as I see it has two halves: 1) keep the infrastructure fast, secure, and boring. 2) make privacy something ordinary people use without having to think about it.
I don’t think privacy is a feature, and I don’t think it’s a niche. It’s the room a society needs to think, speak, associate, and change its mind. Any system people depend on for daily life should give them that room by default. That’s the standard I’ll hold our work to.
👀 BIG things are happening in ZEC land
BIG development for Zcash.
Developers have agreed on the activation block for NU7.
Block 3,543,405.
Targeting November 5.
And this upgrade is significant.
75 second blocks become 25 seconds.
That's 3X faster block production.
Faster confirmations.
Improved transaction capacity.
Better infrastructure for private payments.
All while preserving Zcash's 21 million supply cap and existing halving schedule.
Final software integration is still required.
But $ZEC just moved another step closer to one of its biggest network upgrades.
