AI could never write a scene like the Tom/Shiv fight from last night's Succession. It could never. But it could replace a greedy CEO for no pay at all. Who doesn't wanna save their company a few hundred million dollars a year, right? #WGAStrike #WGAStrong

Ryan's thread overlaps with and reminds me of Bill Buxton's point about the difference in skills/approaches needed between "getting the right design, and getting the design right"
I've started saying "prototyping" more, instead of "iterating", after I learned something from @bmoesta.
Prototyping means trying wildly different options that cover more possibilities to discover what works.
Iterating implies gradual change down one path we're already on.

Designers are often optimising quality and process over speed.
Product managers and business stakeholders are often optimising speed over quality and process.
Very rarely do these groups get together to openly discuss these trade-offs. This results in needless frictions groups.

3 things that help luck:
1. Deconstructing your craft, so you know what good opportunities look like.
2. Remaining vigilant, so you notice when lucky breaks come your way.
3. Acting quickly, so you are more likely to seize luck when it arrives.
