ISRAEL ELECTIONS: TURNOUT BY DISTRICT VS. 2022 VOTING BLOCS With roughly 25 minutes until polls close, here’s the district turnout data as of 8 PM, compared with how each district voted in 2022. Judea and Samaria: 74.2%, the highest reported turnout. Netanyahu’s bloc received 82.1% here in 2022. Central: 71.4%, second highest and particularly interesting. Netanyahu’s bloc received 46.2% in 2022, compared with 45.0% for the opposition. Just 1.2 points separated them. Northern: 69.9%. Arab parties received 38.0% here in 2022, more than either political bloc. Southern: 67.9%. Netanyahu’s bloc received 58.6% in 2022. Haifa: 66.5%. The opposition led with 44.1%, followed by Netanyahu’s bloc at 38.8% and Arab parties at 14.7%. Tel Aviv: 66.0%. The opposition received 52.8%, compared with 43.5% for Netanyahu’s bloc. Jerusalem: 63.8%, the lowest reported turnout, despite Netanyahu’s bloc receiving 73.8% here in 2022. The 2 districts with the highest reported turnout are a Netanyahu stronghold and a district where the blocs were almost evenly divided in 2022. The North, with its substantial Arab electorate, ranks third, while Jerusalem, another major Netanyahu stronghold, ranks last. Exit polls at 10 PM. Note: The 2026 district figures come from a locality level dataset with potentially incomplete coverage. They do not reconcile with the reported national turnout of 74.3% at 8 PM and should not be treated as verified districtwide rates. H/T @israel_elects

Η ανακοίνωση της 🇸🇦 για την επίσημη επίσκεψη του 🇬🇷 ΠΘ σήμερα Μεταξύ των θεμάτων συζήτησης η ηλεκτρική διασύνδεση 🇬🇷🇸🇦 (Saudi-Greek Interconnection) με βάση την απόφαση και το MoU που υπογράφηκε από τις δύο πλευρές το 2022 "Based on the distinguished relations that unite the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hellenic Republic and their friendly peoples, and coinciding with the (one hundred) years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, paid an (official) visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 14 Jumada Al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to 25 October 2026 AD. His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received His Excellency Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, in Riyadh. They held an official meeting during which they exchanged congratulations on the centenary of diplomatic relations and reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as ways to develop them in all fields. Both sides commended the positive outcomes of the visit of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in July 2022, during which the establishment of the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council was announced, and the visit of the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in January 2025, during which the first meeting of the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council was held. These outcomes contributed to expanding cooperation and developing relations between the two countries. They emphasized the importance of the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council as an effective institutional framework for strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed their aspiration to continue working within the Council's framework and implementing priority joint initiatives. In the economic, trade, and investment spheres, both sides commended the strength of the economic ties between the two friendly countries and agreed on the importance of enhancing them, particularly in sectors of shared priority, and capitalizing on the investment opportunities offered by the strategic visions and directions of both nations. They praised the growth of bilateral trade, noting the increase in trade volume since 2021, projected to reach approximately US$1.7 billion by 2025. They also welcomed the progress achieved within the framework of the Investment and Trade Committee emanating from the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council, and emphasized the importance of working to implement the agreed-upon initiatives and translate them into tangible results. They welcomed the recent meeting of the Saudi-Hellenic Business Council in Athens, Greece. They agreed on the importance of strengthening investment relations in key sectors, including infrastructure, construction, energy, digital connectivity, logistics, and technology, to achieve mutual benefit. Both sides commended the progress made in implementing the EMC Cable project, which aims to enhance digital connectivity between East and West, and affirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and coordination to complete the project according to the approved timeline. The Saudi side welcomed Greek investors and companies, expressing its eagerness to attract high-quality investments and advanced expertise in various promising sectors. It also encouraged Greek companies to establish their regional headquarters in the Kingdom and explore opportunities in major projects, including those related to the Kingdom's hosting of Expo 2030 Riyadh and the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The Greek side, in turn, encouraged Saudi companies to explore investment opportunities in Greece, highlighting the strategic location of the Hellenic Republic as a gateway to the European market and the wider Southeast European region, as well as the opportunities available in the energy, transportation, logistics, digital infrastructure, and advanced technology sectors. In the field of energy, the Hellenic side praised the Kingdom’s efforts and its leading role in enhancing the reliability and stability of global oil markets, and its positive role in balancing global energy markets, in a way that serves the interests of producing and consuming countries and achieves sustainable economic growth. Both sides emphasized the critical importance of protecting the security and safety of international maritime routes to ensure the safe and continuous flow of energy supplies to global markets without interruption or restrictions. They expressed their concern about attacks targeting energy infrastructure, which affect supply availability and market stability. The Hellenic side praised the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom to contribute to ensuring the continuity of supplies and enhancing the resilience of supply chains, particularly through the use of alternative export routes such as the East-West pipeline, which have contributed to reducing market volatility and enhancing global energy security. Both sides emphasized the importance of the 2022 Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the energy sector, including the electricity interconnection project between the two countries (the Saudi-Greek Interconnection). They also expressed their commitment to accelerating cooperation in this field, given its strategic importance. The Saudi side noted that this project is one of several electricity interconnection initiatives the Kingdom is implementing as part of its efforts to become a global hub for electricity interconnection and energy exports. Its implementation will yield mutual benefits, including the exchange and export of electricity, enhancing the security and reliability of interconnected power grids, and strengthening the electricity interconnection between Saudi Arabia and Europe via Greece. For its part, the Greek side highlighted Greece's strategic location and existing infrastructure as key pillars for its development into a regional energy and digital connectivity hub, which complements the electricity interconnection project and enhances connectivity between the two regions. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen, and explored opportunities for exporting it from the Kingdom to the Hellenic Republic and onward to demand centers in other European Union countries. Both sides noted the importance of developing investments between them in the field of conventional and renewable energy and petrochemicals to diversify global supply chains, cooperate in developing the required technologies, and enable cooperation between companies to maximize the use of local resources in both countries, which contributes to achieving energy supply flexibility and efficiency. Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and rationalizing its consumption in the building, industry and transportation sectors, raising awareness of its importance, in addition to cooperation in the energy services companies sector, and developing capabilities in the field of energy efficiency. Regarding climate change issues, both sides stressed the importance of adhering to the principles of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, and the importance of joint cooperation to develop circular carbon economy applications by promoting policies for using the circular carbon economy as a tool for managing emissions and achieving climate change mitigation and adaptation goals. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership in the following areas: (1) Digital economy, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and space technologies. (2) Transportation, logistics, and civil aviation. (3) Justice and the judiciary. (4) Culture. (5) Tourism. (6) Sports and youth. (7) Scientific and educational cooperation. (8) Media. (9) Advanced industries and supporting the integration of supply chains. (10) Environment, water, and agriculture. (11) Public health and health security, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. They emphasized their dedication to enhancing security cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual concern, including combating crime in all its forms, countering extremism and terrorism and their financing, and exchanging expertise and training in these areas. They agreed on the importance of bolstering cooperation in cybersecurity and sharing information to protect the fundamental interests and national security of both countries. At the conclusion of the visit, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him and his accompanying delegation. His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, conveyed his best wishes for the Prime Minister's continued health and well-being, and for further progress and prosperity for the friendly Greek people"
