ALT Thanks to the kind and generous donation of resources by a local farmer, Ronald Anderson and his wife Lesley, twenty resource kits have been created for the Graded Repetitive Arm Supplementary Program (GRASP). GRASP is a self-directed hand and arm exercise program for people affected by stroke which aims to increase potential for recovery of hand and arm function through challenging repetitions of practice and encouraging the use of the stroke-affected hand in everyday activities. Each new kit comprises a participant manual and an accompanying box of resources for practicing the hand and arm exercises and functional tasks. Five of the kits will be used with inpatients within the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Fraserburgh Hospital to start upper limb rehabilitation early in their stroke journey. The remaining fifteen GRASP kits will be distributed across the Aberdeenshire Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy Team.
