Early voting in NC this week is at 368 sites Mon-Weds, then Thurs-Fri 370 sites as Beaufort Co adds sites in Aurora and Belhaven. 358 of the sites are open 8 am to 7:30 pm, 10 just business hours. at 1:45 pm today (Sunday Oct 25) there were long lines at 16 of 18 Wake County early voting site, longest at the two Cary sites. NO wait at Wake Tech South or Beech Bluff Park in Willow Springs. Polls are open today until 6 pm and anyone in line then can vote. My suggestion if you want to vote today and are flexible is to get in line at 5:30 pm. Thru Saturday Oct 24, 163,605 North Carolinians have applied for absentee ballots, 59,755 (36.5%) have successfully voted them. 10,678 (6.5%) chose instead to early vote and discarded their absentee ballots, including 702 during Saturday early voting yesterday. #ncpol

so many small things affect voter turnout especially in college towns - especially Saturday home football games. Last day of early voting is Sat Oct 31 at 3pm, with the UNC football game JUST announced for 7:30 pm that day rather than the oft noon or 3 pm. Less voter messes with traffic and access to early voting sites ! Chapel of the Cross is on Franklin St in downtown Chapel Hill.

Some advice if you are one of 95,000 NC voters with an absentee ballot in hand. If able you can choose instead to vote early or election, discard absentee after. If still voting absentee follow instructions carefully, seal inner envelope. If mailing USPS I suggest at a USPS blue mailbox BY THIS MONDAY Oct 26.
