U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in over $850M last week, the highest weekly inflow since April.
That means more money is choosing the ETF route to buy Bitcoin exposure. This matters because ETFs buy and hold BTC against incoming demand. If these inflows continue, they add steady buy pressure without needing retail traders to chase the move directly.
A Panama-flagged vessel, identified by maritime security firm Vanguard as the Vela Nova, was reportedly fired on by U.S. forces in the Gulf of Oman after attempting to breach the American blockade of Iranian ports.
A U.S. helicopter hit the ship’s rudder, sparking a fire that was later extinguished. All 17 crew members were accounted for, with no casualties reported.
A Saudi commercial ship was reportedly struck by a missile in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, killing three crew members: two Pakistani nationals and one Indonesian, according to ISNA.
The attack comes after renewed Houthi pressure on Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea corridor, where MARAD continues to warn ships of missile, drone, boarding, and seizure risks.
Tehran's answer to Trump is that no US announcement opens Hormuz. It opens when six conditions are met.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council published them on Saturday:
- No threats or insults to Iran
- End the war on Iran and its allies
- Lift the naval blockade, withdraw US forces
- Pay in full for two wars of damage
- Lift all sanctions
- Release Iran's frozen assets
Anything routed around that claim gets treated as hostile. The Oman framework settles where ships sail and leaves the permission question untouched.
The yen hit its weakest since 1986, and for the first time since 2011, the US intervened alongside Japan to reverse it.
On Friday the two governments bought yen in tandem, driving a 5% rebound off the 40-year low near 164.
Trump cast it as a favor to an ally, but the motive was partly domestic: a falling yen was dragging Japanese bonds lower and pushing up US Treasury yields, raising America's own borrowing costs.
