Apple is opening Keynote, Pages and Numbers to outside AI agents, it announced on Oct 27. New MCP support lets external agents read content, make edits and run automated actions inside the apps. Keynote also gets .keyx, an open JSON-based file format that agents and developer tools can read. MCP support needs macOS 27 and ships in November with Apple Creator Studio, $12.99 a month for new subscribers. Apple's office apps are now being built for agents to use.
Amazon now lists 250 million products from other retailers' sites, The Information reported on Oct 28. That's about 2.5 times as many as in March. The Shop Direct program links out to brands that don't sell on Amazon, which gives shoppers less reason to use outside AI agents like Meta's Muse that can buy across stores. Amazon still blocks those agents from its own site. Merchants say the listings have brought in few sales so far.
Nvidia will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering, The Information reported on Oct 27. Meta plans to expand its use of Nvidia's Vera Rubin hardware and Vera CPUs for its next generation of AI agents. The two will tune the Muse agent app and Meta's foundation models, including the new flagship Muse Wonder Full, to train and run more efficiently on Nvidia chips. The same day, TI reported that OpenAI plans to buy Google's TPUs. Nvidia is now paying to keep its biggest customers on its hardware.
OpenAI plans to buy Google's TPUs, The Information reported on Oct 27, citing one person familiar with the matter. Terms weren't disclosed. OpenAI has been one of Nvidia's biggest customers, and Jensen Huang has said it committed to roughly $600B of Nvidia server spend through 2030. OpenAI is also hiring an engineer to optimize its frontier models on TPUs. Even Nvidia's largest buyer now wants a second chip supplier.
Anthropic has acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person startup working on treatments for two rare forms of muscular dystrophy, The Information reported on Oct 27. Founder Cody Tranbarger used Claude to coordinate work with 11 outside labs and has now joined Anthropic. A drug based on his research could reach human trials as soon as late 2028, Anthropic said. It is also working with Bristol Myers Squibb, BigHat Biosciences and four other partners on tasks from antibody design to clinical trial planning.
Oracle will offer Google's TPUs to its cloud customers by 2027, The Information reported on Oct 27. It's the first cloud outside Google's own to carry the chips. Google began selling TPUs to third parties like neoclouds this year, and last week it agreed to put OpenAI's models on Google Cloud. Google is happy to help a cloud rival if it means more TPUs running in more data centers.

Axiom released the first complete computer-checked proof of the Classification of Finite Simple Groups on Oct 26. The original proof runs about 15,000 pages across more than 500 papers by roughly 100 mathematicians. Over 24 days, Axiom's team directed swarms of dozens of AI agents that wrote about 43.1 million lines of Lean. They flagged 34 noteworthy deviations from the published record, including counterexamples to a step in John Walter's 1986 proof of the Unbalanced Group Theorem. Axiom plans to publish the full errata list for group theorists.
Xint researchers found a bug in OpenAI's API that leaked the raw reasoning traces of frontier models like gpt-5.6-sol, they disclosed on Oct 26. It took three API calls: steer /responses/compact into copying the hidden reasoning into a compaction, then ask gpt-4.1 to echo it back. Swapping spaces for tabs got it past OpenAI's classifiers. OpenAI fixed it on Oct 23 and paid a $6,000 bounty. Any server step that reads hidden reasoning and takes client instructions can leak it.
Ray Kurzweil has spent the past year building an AI replica of himself called Rai, The Information reported on Oct 27. It runs in a browser, and talking to it is a lot like a Zoom call. Praxis AI, the startup building it with him, has made about 3,000 replicas like it. Delphi says it has built thousands for clients including Arnold Schwarzenegger. Kurzweil wants Rai available to the public while he's still alive.
More than a quarter of Muse's 10 million users shop through the app, with an average order over $200, Mark Zuckerberg told investors. Meta had to work with Stripe to raise credit limits the week after launch. Stripe pays for each purchase with a single-use virtual card capped at the amount the user approved, so the agent never sees the real card number, The Information reported on Oct 26. Visa and Mastercard are building token systems tied to customers' existing cards. Whoever runs the agent checkout gets to see what agents buy.
