Out today! Travelogue from Stornoway to South Wales via Scarborough, Sunderland and some places that don't begin with 's'. Social history from murals to Marx via the banning of leaping on Sundays. Guaranteed to leave the Last of the Summer Wine theme tune as your earworm.

The comments don’t disappoint.
I'm not a huge football fan but I enjoy reading the tweets and opinions every weekend about how their team was robbed or it's a conspiracy against them to not win the league or cup. Really makes me laugh that they actually believe what they're saying. Arsenal fans are the worst

When clients force me to use their "secure" portals, I make it a point to carefully collect each single account name and password in an email, which I then send to EVERYONE on the project. I like to think it makes some overzealous IT admin somewhere spontaneously combust.

"Southern Water plans to pay out £275m in dividends despite rising debt pressures." So @SouthernWater say they need to borrow £4bn and @ofwat is about to approve putting up customer bills by 44%, oh and they still managed to payout £275m in dividends. You're being had. telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

Did he just disown his own party?
Nick Robinson, "You've had a candidate who says Muslims should be removed from the UK" Nigel Farage, "Really" Nick Robinson, "You've had a candidate who claims that Africans have a low IQ" "Why do you think that people with extreme and unpleasant views rally to your cause?" Nigel Farage, "We've had an awful lot of candidates stitched up in the most extraordinary way. With quotes taken out of context" Nick Robinson, "Why do they rally to your cause?" Nigel Farage, "The truth of it is, before I got involved Reform was virtual Nick Robinson, "I'm asking you a different question, I'm asking about you" Nigel Farage, "No no no no no no no no no no no. They're not there because of me" Nick Robinson, "You founded the party" Nigel Farage, "No no no no no no no" Nick Robinson, "You're the owner of the party" Nigel Farage, "I've had no involvement in the day to day running of the party for over three years. These candidates were recruited before I said I would play an active role in the party. And frankly, they were so desperate for people to stand, and we employed a vetting company that didn't do the job" Nick Robinson, "You can't run vetting but you could find £150 billion in public spending savings"

RIP. What a guy.
Manchester City is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Honorary President, Sir Howard Bernstein. Sir Howard’s contribution and dedication to the development and regeneration of Manchester was remarkable, and his passion for our football club was clear for all to see. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.

supporting Richard at the last gig I went it with my dad was a bit much for me. Weird how music affect us to the bones isn’t it? All the best. I’ll enjoy the new album.
