SYMPTOMS OF NON-ANEMIC IRON DEFICIENCY (ID)
I just love this study from @TobyRichardsUCL - on many levels.
To begin with, the title ("The misogyny of iron deficiency") is a classic, and a topic for another day.
But check out the shear diversity of symptoms from ID. Awesome!

This is esp staggering bc CBC and ferritin checks are fully funded lab tests in Canada. Patients of low income had highest risk of not being tested….think about that. Congrats Dr. Sophia Wen @uoftmedicine for leading this imp work highlighting inequity in access to care. ⭐️
Y’all have heard about how ~40% of 12-21yo are iron deficient but we found similar numbers in 15-54 yo in Canada.
Low income pts had the highest risk of anemia & lowest likelihood of having a ferritin checked.
