Legacy is important. The legacy of an individual, how they helped us, how they made us feel and the work they created - these are reflections of how a person leaves the world a little better than when they entered it. Bridget Merkle, aka @pinkskullqueen, personified all of these elements in her time with us, as one of the Solana’s most important early creators. Her kindness, spirit and art deserve to be remembered. So, in honour of her legacy, the Bridget Merkle Scholarship for Women Creatives launches today.
With the help of The Arts Ambassador Program, @SolanaFndn, @bonk_inu, @21dao_ and @SevenSwordsClan, a $3,000 scholarship will be given out annually to creatives identifying as women, who not only exemplify a passion and gift for the arts, but a passion to help others and make this space a little better, just like Pink did.
Nominations will go live starting in July.

another job advertisement fraud case
a scammer used a @ProtonMail account to post a job ad on behalf of @dYdX that tried to mislead applicants to a private google form
once submitted, the ad didn't even go live as @CryptoJobsList automatically flagged it as fraud
when asked to verify their affiliation with @dydx's via official channels, scammer gave us a 24 hour deadline and threatened to, and i quote:
- "If you no action is taken, then I will begin to spoil the reputation of your project"
- "I intend write to the Coinbase Merchant with a formal complaint"
- "I will also start writing negative reviews and create complete anti-advertising among my colleagues and HR community"
wow! never seen an HR professional being so "kind" over email :)
but, it gets better!
i once again politely asked to email or DM us from the official email / twitter account
and the scammer somehow managed to do it!
they sent an email from [email protected] claiming that “Lee G Kurtz <[email protected]>” is "legit"
however, once we replied to that email - it bounced - proving that it does not exist
i reached out to the @dydx exec team and they confirmed that no such person works for the foundation
key takeaways:
- if someone from [email protected] or named "Lee G Kurtz" reaches out to you - know it's a scammer
- be wary of Google Forms for job applications. Especially if it's coming from a large company. Yes, some legitimate organizations still use Google Forms for HR, but it's a mistake. Please, don't do it.
- if your gut tells you something is off - trust your gut. especially under pressure.

a company is hiring for a full stack dev intern
rejects every single applicant
in the rejection letter they write that they found a better suited candidate…
but
"to increase your chances next time, check out this paid educational course: <link>. good luck!"
…
clearly not a genuine hiring intent
some candidates might indeed be compelled to buy a course an "employer" recommended them…
fascinating!
people find a thousand creative ways to abuse job ad format for all different purposes that are not a genuine hiring intent
from the job ad platform perspective, the best part is how ruthless and shameless such fraudsters are:
- they never admit their misdoings
- they play the victim when the job platform takes them down
- they are usually a "problem child" type of customer - nothing is working for them, they constantly complain and demand
such stories are more common that you'd think
the bottom line:
- as an applicant - be vigilant - if a potential employer is telling you to do something weird, trust your gut and don't do it, ignore, and report to the job ad platform
- as a job ad platform - do trust your gut as well! - instant ban. no second chances.

I have few words for the scale that @mtndao has grown to.
In 2020, @barrett_io and I were trapped on our apartments, navigating a world starved for connection in a disarray of disease.
