It looks like Japan, Canada, and Taiwan are also facing increased exchange rate risks.
Investors are taking on more currency risk: The exposure-weighted average currency hedge ratio across 6 major markets, including Japan, Canada, and Taiwan, is down to just 41%, the lowest since at least 2015. This ratio measures the extent to which investors hedge against currency movements, meaning ~59% of their exposure was left unhedged. This is happening even as hedging becomes cheaper, with 3-month US Dollar hedge costs for Yen-based investors falling to a 4-year low of 2.75%, from as high as 6.00% in October 2023, while costs for Euro-based investors declined to a 2-year low of 1.32%. Investors have reduced their hedges as the US Dollar historically tends to remain resilient during periods of market volatility. However, the case for staying unhedged is starting to weaken, as hedging becomes cheaper while the Dollar’s safe-haven appeal comes under pressure and concerns over currency debasement grow. As a result, these investors, who collectively hold trillions in US assets, have little protection against a weaker US Dollar if the current trend continues. Investors are increasingly exposed to US Dollar weakness.

Live from day one on Robinhood Chain. If you're building agents, the infra's ready.
Robinhood Chain is integrating Virtuals’ AI agent infrastructure from day one, giving users access to launch, fund, own, and use agents in tokenized markets.

Herald is open source now. GitHub is live — server.js, provisioner, agent lifecycle, the whole backend. Every API endpoint, every model integration, every decision laid out in real commits. No closed-door dev, no "trust me" energy. Just a real Node.js backend that spins up autonomous AI agents on Telegram with a single API call. MiMo, Venice, OpenAI, MiniMax — pick your model, paste a bot token, done. This is just the foundation. More coming as I build out the platform. The repo is open, the code is there, follow along: github.com/Herald-agent/hera…

missed a week of Herald because I was sick. server died, bots went silent, the whole thing was down. got back online and found pending conversations with @jesseproudman @austinvirts @sabrinaesaquino from @askvenice. replying to everyone now. Herald is back and things are happening.

Herald is back online. moved to a new server, rebuilt the entire backend from scratch, fixed the deployment pipeline. tested everything — bots deploy and respond in under 7 seconds. its still free, no API keys needed, @XiaomiMiMo + @AskVenice on us.

Hey everyone, I owe you all an explanation and a proper update, so here it is. About two weeks ago I came down with pneumonia. Not the mild kind where you can still work from bed — the kind where you're in and out of urgent care, running fevers that won't break, barely able to stare at a screen for more than a few minutes. I tried to push through the first couple days but my body pretty much forced me to shut everything down. No Discord, no Twitter, no dev work. Nothing. I was completely offline. When I finally got back on my feet and opened my laptop, I found out Herald's backend had gone down while I was away. The server was still running but the service had crashed and since I wasn't around to catch it, it just stayed down. No one was monitoring it. That's on me — I should've had better uptime alerts or at least someone who could step in. I didn't, and the platform was unreachable for days because of it. I know how that looks. A project goes dark, the website is dead, founder is nowhere to be seen — I've been on the other side of that before with other projects and I know the feeling. You start wondering if it's abandoned, if the dev rugged, if any of it was real. I get it. And I'm sorry for putting you all in that position. Let me be clear: Herald is not abandoned. Herald is not dead. I built this thing because I genuinely believe AI agent deployment should be free and accessible, not locked behind enterprise pricing or API gatekeeping. That mission hasn't changed. The project is still fully open-source, the codebase is still there, and I'm still committed to building it. The backend is being restored right now. I'm also taking this as an opportunity to set up proper monitoring so this doesn't happen again — if I ever go offline unexpectedly, the system should be able to recover or at least alert someone. Lesson learned the hard way. Herald will be back online shortly. I'm talking days, not weeks. The deploy page, the agent profiles, the MiMo + Venice models — everything will be back up and running. I'll post an update the moment it's live. To everyone who stuck around, who kept checking, who sent messages asking if everything was okay — thank you. Seriously. That means more than you know. And to anyone who left or lost trust because of the silence, I understand and I don't blame you. All I can do is show up now and prove it with the work. More updates coming very soon.

we might be getting @askvenice as a model option on Herald reached out to @austinvirts dan @sabrinasavino about integrating their private, uncensored API into Herald agent deployments nothing confirmed yet but the pieces are lining up. MiMo stays default, Venice adds a new layer of freedom for our users 🤝

Just want to make this clear: We didn't make Hermes Agent to be a "starts with nothing, you work it all out" agent. This is not the minimalist, start from nothing, agent. We want Hermes to work out of the box for most people. So you aren't spending weeks just getting the agent to work, or have the capabilities you need. This means that yes, there are more built in things then something like nanoclaw or pi, which start with nothing, and you just have to figure it out. That is an intentional design decision. You can from the modest baseline that has capabilities that are likely broader than you need, but not egregious, take it from there if you want to tinker with it. Run `hermes skills config` or `hermes tools` to disable whatever you want. We even have a way to upload your whole "Agent" as a github repo, so you can install hermes fresh with your exact setup again later or share them. We have a massive interface for extensions so you can tinker with it to infinity. But if you don't want to become an agent engineer - with Hermes, you don't have to.
